I like he even has a poll in the article, titled: "Should Blake Griffin run away from the Clippers?" That just made my entire week.
Man, talk about a good read. It was very interesting and funny. Kind of sad how they've been through all that.
NICE. Bill Simmons went hard on this one. If people wonder why the Clippers get the bad wrap they do, that writeup is a perfect listed timeline of Clipper futulity. And things are only looking worse for Blake... I respect Sam Cassell even more than before after reading that.
I didn't really think this piece was that great. It was interesting to see all the stupid decisions the Clippers have made over the years. But the basic point Simmons is trying to make doesn't make any sense. The Clippers aren't cursed. They've had incompetent management. They haven't really been hit harder by injuries than a lot of other teams. They've just screwed up draft picks and trades year after year and kept the poor decision makers in charge. Also, Simmons mentions that the Clippers missed the playoffs in 1993, but that's actually the year the Rockets beat them in the first round.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that when I read it. I remember vividly that they had Mark Jackson on that team and Stanley Roberts going against Hakeem.
