I was at last year's contest, and he made a solid case for himself even in the middle of Vince fever.

Yeah, VC did the elbow thing and all, but the fact is that Francis' vertical measured higher (48", if I remember right).

I wonder if they'll invite Paul McPherson of the Suns... if they do, Steve's got competition in the form of a supposedly 45 inch vertical. [IMG]

True, but what's the use of winnin' if you can't rub the Leagues' loves' face in it?

The highest vertical measured at that dunk contest was 40" and it was by Steve.

Doc, you're saying that spud webb never got higher than 40 inches, or did they not measure back then?
I thought Steve deserved to win it last year because the dunks he was doing were more impressive simply because of how high he was getting.

Kobe probably doesn't want to risk losing to anyone. That's why he didn't compete last year either.

Don't forget about Mcgrady though, he might still be in it. But after those two, who else...Baron Davis? Stackhouse? How many do they usually put in it anyway?...I think it's 6, but i'm not sure. Man...I look forward to this and the rookie game almost more than the all-star game now that no Rockets are in it.

No, I'm saying 40 inches was the highest recorded at that dunk contest. Meaning at last years contest.
