I wanted to start a precedent with the restart. All trade threads for current seasons will be locked after the trade deadline. I'll leave them available so you can see what people were offereing but it may be easier to start discussing future offseason deals here. I know there may be some teams willing to trade guys at the end of the season rather than before the deadline.
OOTP4 2004 Season Trade Discussion I Guess i'll start it off.. Pat Burrell or Bobby Abreau are up for trade, looking to move up in draft or get some good prospects
The Astros are interested in Burrell. I know we talked last season but I didn't really ever find out what you wanted for him. I didn't know prospects were what you wanted. Let me know what (if anything) it would take, I sent you an e-mail.
I'm putting my top prospect and a top 40 prospect in the league up for grabs. J. Pope 24 SP Good Good Average Brilliant C He will be ready to pitch at midseason this year most likely. What am I looking for? Help at 1B or any OF position. I'd like to get a young player that could hit for some power - if not I'd like a pretty solid OBP. I will likely keep most of my major league talent, although Matt Morris (6 AR, 3.67 ERA, expiring contract) could be available for the same type of deal as Pope. I could also use some help with relievers, but only as a throw-in... not the centerpiece to a trade for one of my established players. You can offer me here, by email at SlamDuncan2121@aol.com, or in chat. Also, I basically have a set "deadline" of about Monday, or whenever free agency takes place. If I don't have a deal done by then, I'll likely replace that position in free agency, and I would have no cap room or place to play the player I'd be trading for.
If anyone wants a good hitter, phil nevin is available. Also kirk rueter and ray durham can be had, along with moises alou. Prospects, cheap young players and cash wanted.
Bagwell is very available and can be had for a pretty reasonable price. Hidelgo, Biggio, Wickman, Wagner are all available and in the last years of there deals. I wouldn't mind moving a pitcher or two for a HEAVY HITTING outfielder or third baseman. I'm really never on chat so e-mail me jphillips88@hotmail.com or by posting here and I'll e-mail you.
The A's are in the market for a 1B. I would prefer someone under 30 and I can take on a bit of salary if need be. I have pitching to trade but probably not Zito or Harden.
Would you be interested in Choi? Of course, he is nowhere close to being like he was in the last sim, but he is ready to play in the majors. I am interested in pitching prospects or a ML ready OF.
Depending on how FA goes, I may have a very good SP to deal. Prior is unavailable but everyone else is. That includes Kerry Wood, Juan Cruz, Carlos Zambrano, and Ben Howard. If I had a choice, I would probably deal Wood but I could deal the others if the price is right. I would be looking for a power hitting OF or 3B or maybe 1B. If interested let me know by posting in this thread or by email.
i have a very good power hitter available in Burrell and Abreau.. I either want to move up in the draft, get a good 2b and OF or a SP
Okay, I could still part with Kerry Wood for those who need a stud SP if I can get a position player that is an OPS machine. Unfortunately, that player will probably have to be a 3B instead of an OF, but it could be an OF but would require a multi-player deal. I could also include Bellhorn who can play every position except C and absolutely kills lefties if the player/deal is good enough.
Ok now that FA is over I have a better idea of what I need. I would like to trade Wade Miller or Ted Lilly and their small contracts for good bat. Position is not of concern for me because they will probably end up as my DH. If the playe ris real good I could possibly include a prospect or really depending on how much I like the guy I might be willing to deal Tim Hudson instead of the other 2. CK
Castor and manny, Phil Nevin is available if I got a decent 3b back as a secondary player in the deal.
