Ok i guess this is as good a time as any to start this. Raven I need my brother- in-law back. After that I need to figure out a way to get my son created so I can have the family back together.
Well, since I have 7 starters, I'd like to deal one or two of them. All are open except for Moose, Clemens, Wells, and Andy (which means Hitchcock, El Dookie, and Theodore Roosevelt Lilly are on the block).
I'm interested in acquiring a veteran center fielder who has a couple or three more good years left in him. Has to be a lot better than Doug Glanville (I'm Philadelphia). I could trade a prospect or two like Utley, Richardson, Silva, etc. IVFL, Ray Lankford fits the bill...
Rick Reed and Doug Mientkiewitz are available for younger, cheaper replacements at their positions-- Reed especially... he has an expiring contract and would be a great rental pitcher for a team looking to make a run this year.
All vets available. No point in a mediocre team, so I will start the rebuilding now. Edgar Martinez, Ichiro, Bret Boone, Mike Cameron, Ruben Sierra, John Olerud, Jeff Cirillo, Jeff Nelson, Kazuhiro Sasaki, Jamie Moyer, Arthur Rhodes, Paul Abbott, James Baldwin, Hasegawa etc.. all those guys available for prospects. So if you need a few guys from 39 year old Edgar, to fairly young Ichiro and Cameron for a World Series run just lmk.
IVFL, I would like to talk trade with you. Whenever you can get into the chat get in there. Also, any other GMs with good pitching prospects (Marlins, Cubs, etc.) I am interested in all possibilities.
The Cincinnati Reds are having a firesale on veteran talent, any players EXCEPT Adam Dunn and Austin Kearns are available. Looking for good young prospects.
I have now taken over the St. Louis Cardinals. Basically anyone besides Pujols, Drew, Morris, and Bud Smith is available. That doesn't mean I won't trade any of those guys, but if I do it would have to be for like talent and age at a position that I need. SS and C are my biggest weaknesses right now. I also have 1 or 2 too many guys in the bullpen, so anyone besides Kline or Isringhausen can easily be dealt there.
Okay, I have changed to the Diamondbacks. Mark Grace is available. Castor - I sent you an email about your brother-in-law.
Jim Thome is available. So is most of the team- but dont expect to get my starting pitchers (unless a very good offer of course).
I want to improve my team I mean, this is not a sell all, rebuilding effort. This is an effort to raise the quality of the others while trading away Thome. So I guess I need one 1B back to take his place, while getting something extra to improve other weaknesses.
Castor, I saw in the other thread that you had Daryle Ward on the trading block. Would you be interested in Michael Restovich for him? Restovich has the same talent (A-G-A), but is younger and obviously has a lesser contract, so you wouldn't have to resign Ward and could go after more in FA. Let me know...
