I am in need of ML hitters. Position is of no matter but 1B and OF are pluses. I would like fairly young guys(by that I mean I don't want guys that are 33 and up). I am willing to give up good pitching in return since I have 3 top 40 prospects and a #4 and #5 starter that would probably be #1 or 2 on some other teams.

I can also echo Castor post. I have pitching. I want hitting.

It is not ideal for me either to take on older players or expensive players, but I would consider a Juan Gone if the price is right. But I do need the deal to be done rather soon, as I probably would cover my need in the FA if nothing materializes soon.

Actually I might have some interest in Abreau. What type of deal were you looking at? Young pitchers (Obenchain, Pena) or MLB ready Pitchers (Miller, Hudson)?

Smallz - the Astros would also be interested in Abreu. I sent you an e-mail.

The Astros are like the many other clubs wishing to trade pitching for young hitters. Anyone interested in prospects OR young MLB pitchers let me know.

Also there is a good chance I might be looking to move down in the draft if the top 2 pitching prospects are gone (I have the 3rd overall pick I believe). Let me know if anyone has interest in moving up.

    Heath,

How can I land Willis? If I trade Juan Gone for little or no salary, I will include cash in the deal to help cover the contract. I'd love to package for Hermida and Willis.

Something like...Juan + Marques (1B prospect) + my 1st rounder for Willis + Hermida. If you have any salary you want to dump you can include that too.

    You drive a hard bargain.
Not only do you want my 2nd rated (and only leftie) pitcher, you does not want to take on much salary, for and old guy (but good, I'll give you that, but so is Willis) that has a high salary. You also want Hermida for Marques. Of course you also add in cash and a mid (I guess) 1st rounder.

From my end, I would have to send Jordan packing (last year 3.5M), have much better use for Meyer and still would have to think hard about trading away the duo. Do you have any idea in what range your pick is, and how much cash you would be willing to send?

Mine is about the 15th pick from looking at the standings. What if I added Meyer for Castillo...making the deal look like this:

    Juan (11 mil) + Marques + Meyer + 1st rounder + 3 mil
    for
    Willis + Hermida + Castillo (~5 mil) + Jordan (3.5 mil)

That way the salary is about even...You're getting 11 mil and I'm getting 8.5 and losing the 3 million.

I've come to the conclusion that 2 years of Juan Gone is not worth giving up a decade+ of Willis. Hopefully I can find something in FA that will do me better with even keeping Willis.

So, what time shall the Wakefields plow into the free agency chat room and offer 10 million to Mark Lukasiewicz?

The sad thing is, I believe you would do that ;). FA starts at about 6:00 PM Central, so adjust accordingly.

Yeah, I should just make it a clean 15 mill instead.

Bobby Hill or Mark Ellis but not both are available as is Joe Borowski or Ben Weber.

I am looking for prospects and cannot take on any more salary.

Let me know if you are interested.

After FA the A's are in need of a 1B. I can take on some salary and I have prospects or MLB pitcher still to give.

    Castor,

Would you be interesed in Overbay from Arziona or K. Harvey from the Angles (I have not made the deal for him yet). I guess since I could also keep one of them I could deal my 1B Swisher back to Oakland in a better deal, but I'm much more inclined to deal Overbay or Harvey.

Los Angeles Team Batting Average: .221
Los Angeles Starting Lineup Batting Average: .223
Los Angeles 5-6-7 Batting Average: .232
    etc, etc, etc, etc...

Apparently a major league team does require hitting. Who knew? Anyways, the Wake's would appreciate an upgrade. From absolute mashers to even bench players that deserve a shot at starting. The Wake's like to keep themselves open to all possibilities.

Guys, I have 9 pitchers in the Top 100 and a few other talanted pitchers in my farm system that didn't quite make the list. Just about all are available (beings that they can't ALL make my club).

Let me know via e-mail jphillips88@hotmail.com or this thread with any players you are interested in and what type of deal you had in mind.
