Crap! I'll be at a conference Thursday and Friday. Let the computer draft for me, I guess. I'm missing the most fun part!
Also, if you guys can come into the mIRC chatroom (#houstonrockets) either late this afternoon (2-4) or this evening (8-later) that'd be great, so we can burn through the draft
The available rookies link (where the players are) is off the league site, below the standings. Before you can do it, though, Chuck needs to post who the computer took at picks 4 and 5. If you have questions about the players, come into chat and a few of us are there.
http://users2.ev1.net/~chkemp/ootp/rookies.htm Thats the available rookies (subtract the ones already picked). There is one list for batters and one for pitchers. The best ones are generally listed at the top of both lists, but the computer might sort the player a bit different than human managers with regards on need for positions. Top 10 listed batters at the moment A. Marquez 19 1B Brilliant Average Average C D E C. Pascale 20 3B Average Brilliant Good D E B W. Herbert 21 SS Good Average Average C D B K. I thought that Chuck was going to say how long we are going to give people. I'll say this to the new managers: if you know that you are not going to be able to check the BBS periodically, like every hour, for God's sake, send a list to someone that WILL be on the BBS or just say "auto". It is not right for one person to hijack the draft. I know that most of it is just that people don't know, but we run into this problem EVERY FREAKING SEASON.
I did send an email through the BBS to him last night, which was around 11 CST (assuming that his email through the BBS has been kept current). If he doesn't pick by 11 this morning, I think we should let the computer take the best player for him. I was *hoping* we could get the regular season started by the end of this weekend, but as of right now, it doesn't look too promising.
Guys, A lot of the new guys who just signed up WON'T last the season. But as Cat stated in chat if only 3 or 4 do it's worth it. My suggestion (if it matters) is to keep them on a short leash for awhile. If they are not posting line-up for in general ignoring the league, I would say put the team back on computer control. I hate to see human run teams be ignored. Line-up undone, pitching rotations incomplete, and below 25 man MLB rosters. If these guys want to come back ofcourse can but no need to let a team go into the ****ter.
P Lopez P Ruiz P Cejas Bovie's up were the next 3 picks, for the rest of you who still have to draft, please get a list ready, I don't know if we'll be able to complete it tonight, but that's my goal.
If we can knock out a few more picks this afternoon I'll send a list to someone. I'll be gone until very late tonight, so I'd like to send a list, but sending a list of 9-10 players (what it would be right now) is too difficult.
