call it what it is. The refs are very prejudice!!. I hate to use the race card, but it is very obvious. They hit him with tic-tac fouls and let others hammer him. He is an all star and they treat him like a 10 day contract rookie. If Yao was Black or White, he would get the calls! The NBA must be careful, they want China's money and following, but will not give us correct calls. If this does cease, it could cause an international incident. Do you not think that the Chinese Basket Association does not see it? One day they or Yao will speak out and all hell will break loose. They would ban Chinaese imports of NBA items and quit broadcasting the games back to China. They would not let any more of our people come to the NBA.
Im sorry this is rediculous. Yao gives the refs difficulties because he is unusually big. He also does a lot of genuine fouls. If his timing were better he would not get so many bad calls.
Do you live in North Korea? How could someone be so naive to believe that the government or the CBA (how much power do they have) will shut down multi-millions business, just because Yao doesn't get the call? Please tell me you are joking, although it's not funny at all.
only way for Yao to get calls is if he stands up for himself the next time he gets a blatently unfair call. Yao should just stand there...stop play and give a menancing glare at the offending ref and not move/or stop glaring for a minute. Just let the game continue while he stands there glaring. that will scare the crap out of the refs and Yao won't get a technical cuz he doesn't have to say anything.
Yeah, While Yao's standing underneath the basket like a statue of liberty, the Rockets opponents score 50 unanswered fast-break points using Yao as a shield against us.
well sometimes its necessary to sacrafice to make a point. perhaps wait till a blowout losing game to do this.
The REAL only way for Refs to start treating Yao fairly is for Yao to start fouling out of games early and often using the patented Shaq Shoulder Dip'n'Dunk. Once there are a few games where this happens, the league is going to tell the officials to stop fouling the MOST POPULAR PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE (as determined by all-star votes) out of every game. The officials have made it clear that they are not going to voluntarily adjust, so it is up to Yao (and Van Gundy as his coach) to force their hands.
"We are all stupider for having heard that statement. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
