    A couple things:
Rockets are only three games behind the 8th spot and 52 games left to play, plenty to catch up.

Yao Ming needs special shoes when he comes back, we still have to play Seattle & fortson three times.

Rockets have the worst home court in the league after Toronto.

They also had one of the worst, inconsistent, shallow (no depth) rosters.
BUT...you are right, the season is hardly over. As someone said, I won't give up on playoff hopes until it's mathmatically impossible.

If Yao comes back and him and TMac stay healthy, this team will make the playoffs, no question about it. That is irregardless of who else is injured or if we don't make a single roster move to bring in anyone else. As long as Yao and TMac play out the year healthy and we are still within 5 or 6 games of the 8th seed when Yao comes back, we will make the playoffs.

although I agree with you, my biggest concern about Yao's return will be how long it takes him to get into game shape again. But hey, some yao is better than no yao.

??? You mean the Rockets, or Toronto?

('cause the Rockets roster is VERY deep, if healthy)

"Rockets have the worst home court in the league after Toronto."

Rockets...they have a horrible home court b/c we have been beat up and injured...leading to a short bench. Healthy is a word I don't even recognize for this season.

you said, "if healthy"...oh man, only if...things would be TOTALLY different, "if healthy," but we aren't :(

Yeah, I think TNT last night posted something that said we're 3-9 at home. I was thinking wow, so far I've only been to 1 game (home opener vs. Sactown) ... and I've seen 1/3 of our home wins!

Don't worry though, guys. I have tix to 6 games starting in Feb (the Yao Ming III pack). Hopefully they'll win all those for me like they won the home opener. ;)

That means after tonight, we will have played 7 more road games than home games. Assuming our home record thus far is an abberation due to injuries, we should be able to make up some ground with some home court advantage.

8th seed seems more like a hollow victory though, right? The most probable result would be just another 1st round exit.

in my opinion, the focus should be on the 6th spot. i think we can run the tables until the western conference finals. utah/twolves will make for an easy 1st round, we usually play phoenix (2nd round) well. anything can happen from there.

They'll have to beat the Spurs at some point won't they?

Why not sweep them in the first round?

There's no way we will sweep the Spurs. I think Spurs will win two games before we crush them.

Well, Toast. Since you have such a lock on home wins when you are in attendance, I suggest that the Rockets plop you down in the FRONT ROW of the remaining 28 home games, on them of course, if they want to have any chance to make the playoffs!!! :D
