Man calls police to report stolen weed

A Texas man was arrested on Monday after calling police to complain about the theft of his mar1juana, authorities said.

Stephen Knight, 17, said three men had broken into his apartment, hogtied him with Christmas lights and stole some mar1juana, along with a plasma screen television, police said.

Police are looking for the suspects. In the meantime, they arrested Knight after finding several mar1juana plants growing under heat lamps in the apartment, four grams of harvested mar1juana and a tablet of ecstasy, Officer Chad Ripley said.

Knight said the men barged into his home early on Monday morning demanding, "Where's the weed?," according to San Antonio police.

Victim in trouble after reporting stolen pot

    Marvin Hurst
    KENS 5 Eyewitness News

He was the victim of a home invasion, but he's the one who's in trouble with the law this morning.

That's because of the mar1juana that the robbery suspects were after last night in the 3900 block of Fredericksburg Road.

Police say the victim and his girlfriend waited 30 to 40 minutes before calling police about their stolen pot.

According to police, the invaders knocked on the front door. When the victim opened it, they pulled a gun and started demanding the mar1juana.

When the girlfriend returned, she found the victim tied up in the bedroom.

"When our officers first arrived here, they weren't cooperative in the beginning," said SAPD Sgt. Curtis Coolidge. " We didn't even get the basic description until about 15 or 20 minutes here at the scene to get the victim to cooperate with the investigation."

Police say they have a vague description of the robbers, who are described as three Hispanic males, 18 to 20 years old. The trio will face aggravated robbery charges.

As for the young couple, no one was injured, but police believe that possession of mar1juana charges are very likely.

Man reports stolen mar1juana to police

    By Tinuola Awopetu, Court TV

(Court TV) — When Stephen Ross Knight and his girlfriend called police to report a home invasion, a little housekeeping before detectives arrived at the scene would not have been such a bad idea.

After three gun-wielding men accosted Knight in his home on July 24 and made off with his 42-inch plasma-screen television, his wallet and cell phone, and a stash of mar1juana, his girlfriend, who found him tied up in the bedroom, called San Antonio police.

But police at the scene had a hard time concentrating on the crime they were called to investigate. In plain sight were several bongs, loose mar1juana, a mar1juana plant and an Ecstasy pill, according to an incident report.

"Just because you're a victim doesn't mean [police] can turn a blind eye to contraband in plain view," San Antonio police spokesperson Officer Joe Rios said.

When questioned about the robbery, Knight not only mentioned the stolen television, wallet and cell phone, he also listed the 82 grams of "hydro" mar1juana. "Hydro" mar1juana, Officer Rios explained, is a potent form of mar1juana that sells for at least $5000 per pound, compared to $400-500 per pound for regular mar1juana.

The victim-turned-suspect also told officers that the robbers missed a mar1juana plant that his girlfriend later hid in a safe. Officer Rios said the couple consented to a search of the safe where detectives found the plant.

Knight was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He posted the $7000 bail and was released.

Rios said detectives were still investigating the home invasion, but have no leads in the case. The three suspects are described as Hispanic men in their early 20s.

Before my wife and I were married, she lived in a an apartment next to a guy that was growing weed in his bathroom. One day his AC went out so he called the super to come fix it. When trhe supe got there they realized that he would have to see the bathroom, so they decided not to let him in. The conversation at the door went somethign like this.
Supe: knocks "I'm here to fix the AC"
    Guy: You can't come in
Supe: I can't fix the AC if I don't come in.
Guy: We don't need it fixed, we'll just be hot.
Supe: You don't need it fixed?
Guy: No it ain't broke, we didn't call you
Supe: You didn't you said your name was XXXX and the AC in Apt. 105 was out.
Guy: Oh yeah, It was a mistake. It's not broke

NEedless to say the guy and his plants were evicted 2 days later.
