My points exactly. What's great is we're an improved team over last year from what I've been hearing and reading. What makes this even better is that we've done it with new faces on the team, really young players, and a bunch of injuries. But to say we're going to make it to the playoffs doesn't really mean that much to me. Hell, so does just about everybody else... I know everybody wants to make the playoffs and that's the mantra all NBA players are taught to chant along with "take it one game at a time", but I just want improvement out of Francis, Mobley, and the others. Who cares if they don't make the playoffs. I never expected this team to make the playoffs, but they've shocked me to this point to be quite honest. They're a few pieces (and those pieces aren't necessarily players) from the magic goal of actually contending in the playoffs and not just making the playoffs. We are closer to the playoffs than we are to the cellar. Especially when you consider the light schedule coming up. I don't think the Kings are going to finish in the top 4. They started nicely last year too, and finished at the eighth spot. I don't think they will drop that low this year, but hell, if the Rockets could play them in the playoffs, I would be overjoyed. Making the playoffs is an important goal. Without that goal, there is nothing to play for. The season is pointless if the team finishes 9th in a conference. Bad draft pick, and no playoffs. It is better to play for the playoffs, instead of "playing for improvement". The Rockets played for improvement last year. Shutting down PFs is not the problem.
