i looked into it once, i think you have to pay 30 bucks to register to be 'included' in the pool of people who can take surveys for money ... i didnt think it would be worth it, so i didnt sign up.
That is what I saw. $19.95 to "register" and then you hope to make it back some day. Heck with that. I can find much better ways to waste $20.
Actually, there was one that I was involved with for about 2 years that paid out $50 every 3 months for filling out a clothing survey once a month. I didn't ever pay for anything, and the checks always came in reliably. I think it was called partnership plus, but then I got my e-mail address at hotmail hijacked and I don't know what happened to the free money.
Stay away from all the pay to take surveys crap. I'm with several free sites that pay you for taking surveys. I've been paid over $300 from Surveysavvy since 09/2001. It's a referal link.
