Sorry, I have to vent. Whenever I feel like I've been even slightly ripped off by a retailer it's very hard for me to let it go until I feel I have been fully refunded and vindicated by the company. Warning: we're talking about used CDs here, so if you're expecting some giant case of fraud stop reading now. This is just my petty complaint, which I posted on a "bad business practices" blog. Here it is:
I've actually never had unresolved problems when ordering from large online retailers like FYE before. Sure, I've been ripped off once or twice on eBay.
How do you get ripped on eBay? You're supposed to actually get bargains on eBay... that's the one place you shouldn't get ripped... research prices from retailers before buying from eBay.
sorry, buy ripped off I mean a person shipped a fragile item by basically wrapping it in cardboard with no packing material. It never had a chance to make it in one piece, and the person didn't respond to my email...ebay never did anything about it. Last time I tried to buy something fragile on ebay.
All this work for $3?? Not to sound like an ass or anything, but that sure is a lot of work for $3. Even if you make minimum wage (which just went up), it's not that much money.
Haha, yeah it's the principle of it at this point. If you can shrug it off then you are a bigger man than me.
Charge it to the game. I have a hunch, one of the three cd's happened to be this, which is worth $3 of my time considering I read your complaint, the content below, and this reply, so essentially feel you broke even in life now. Good day sir. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZeuNxMY_5Uo&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZeuNxMY_5Uo&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Your hunch is erroneous, and I would like to make it clear that the three CDs in question were the following: Minutemen - Double Nickels on the Dime Fleetwood Mac - Tusk Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See Two classic albums, and one early 90's gem.
FYE is a ripoff offline. My friend was looking to buy some Pink Floyd cds one day. Went to FYE...he was about to checkout when I finally convinced him that 18.99 for a cd in 2009 is insane. He bought the cd at bestbuy for about 10 bucks.
How does someone not know that they can get a CD for cheaper than $18.99 in this day and age? I typically will not buy new CD's for much more than $12, and can usually always find it for around $10. It never really made much sense to me to pay $10 for downloading an album, when you can usually find a brand new CD for that price or even less for a used CD. I feel like you're getting more for your money.
