How come every company wants you to spend an hour to fill out their own online job application forms when applying for a posistion? These things are hell. I'm sick of it. It's ridiculous. Just let me send my resume and you freaking read it.

Because human resources is quite possible the dumbest department ever created by some middle-management schmuck.

I find that the only way I can really make any sort of impact when applying for a job is to contrive some way to avoid HR altogether.

The worst are the ones that want you to "register". Why do I need a username and password to submit my resume?

They do this in essence as an online personality test to judge your customer service/dependabilty skills rankings.

They also use tthe information that you submitted to prep your paperwork in case you are hired.

1.How often do you steal money from work?
2.How often do you take unauthorized breaks or days off from work?
    3.How stupid are you?

Its like cmon what do they expect people to answer?

some are good, some are bad, the ones I hate are the ones that ask you to repeat the info on your resume.

I think the box "Race" should be done away with.

I don't mind the online apps. It seems like they respond faster when they are online. IMO.

those things have no idea what they are. i actually answered one honestly when applying to circuit city and I was flagged as "yellow" as a possible interview but more than likely a bad employee. the manager hired me because of my ethnicity and I ended up accounting for over 50% of the departments sales while working part time in a matter of a month. while all the other new employees that were "green" stuggled to barely hit their goals.

i cant stand employers that use an online survey/app to be a major factor when deciding to hire someone. it should be all about the interview

Rumor is some very smart people can't pass it. I don't know who though. Just rumor. Keep it on the down low.
