I've noticed something about my online banking statements. Debits that are made at a restaurant where I have left a tip only show the amount of the check less the tip. For example, we ate somewhere the other night and the bill was $51.75. I tipped $8.25 to round it up to an even $60. My online banking statement only shows the $51.75. What happened to the tip money?
Mine tend to show the amount less tip immediately and a day or two later the amount changes to include the tip. I assume this is because the restaurant runs the original tab through to ensure it is accepted and later runs it through again to get the tip in.
