There sure are alot of you out here in Clutchland that is already tinkering with real investment trading and such...But what if there was a new playing field where you can have fun and mix it up with the sports world?? Looks like someone mashed up the idea with trading and selling athletes! Is anyone familiar with this??? http://oneseasontalk.com from slickdeals.net Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with this company. It looks fun.... just don't lose money you can't afford, heh.
I've heard about this. It looks very interesting and the returns some people are making are astonishing.
I still don't understand. can someone dumb it down for an Aggie? Where is the money coming from? New people? Its a pyramid scheme? I don't understand what breeds new money. Other than more people joining and putting in money.
That's pretty much the gist of it. As the site grows, the market will grow, and as a result the underlying assets should grow. I wouldn't call it a pyramid scheme because it isn't fueled through referrals but rather word of mouth.
Do they advertise this thing on the radio? Like on Rome? If not, they should, and Ill get in right before they do. Then get the hell out. Sounds like a pyramid scheme. You have to produce something to make money.
I've seen something like this before. Isn't there another site doing this that is a little older and more polished?
I don't understand the legalities of selling shares of actual athletes. Wouldn't the athletes want to get paid for having their name used in this mini-stock market?
Again how is this legal? Jordan would refuse to have his name in certain NBA games because he wasn't getting paid by them. Athletes have refused to have their baseball or basketball or football cards on certain decks because of company loyalty. Same with Yao and Reebok or Lebron and Nike. They're basically buying people's names and you don't think even one athlete will be pissed?
Bump.... check out www.oneseason.com the markets in a free fall right now...all stocks are around 1-2.50...if want to play around I suggest joining now. good luck!
I am on there. Too bad I got in last night instead of this morning.. oh well. Why is there a "price" on the players if you can only buy from sellers, and if the sellers are usually selling much higher than the "price" of the player? Additionally, what does it mean to have "outstanding shares"? If shares are only sold from one person to another...how are any shares outstanding? How do you buy these outstanding shares from "the market" or whatever?
The outstanding shares are whats in the market, when an IPO is released X amount of shares are available, once the price closes above 20 dollars it splits, which doubled the shares outstanding. Most stocks have now split 5-10 times and there is a lot of supply and not as much demand. There needs to be a reverse split or two for the market to correct itself, or the new "ad" campaign needs to generate a lot of new users. People are panicking as they see all their previous gains go away. I dont suggest trading for short term and only put in what you are willing to lose.
the "price" is the average price of trades that have been completed that day or within the last couple of hours. Does not mean what you can pay/sell for it at that exact moment
