Mike James scored 21 points and picked up 3 steals, on 50% shooting!!! How bout that for your first game with a new team. Does anyone know if any other newly aquired players had ever done that with the Rockets in the first game, except for maybe Drexler, give it up for the new guy!!

I don't know if it's really a bright point when a point guard has 3 assists but 4 TOs.
50% shootinh, so what? I know Yao had a terrible game, but he still got 50% as well. I'd rather see Yao take more shots and James have more assists.

Nobody on this team is trying to destroy Yao's career. They need time to develop chemistry. Sura is not a natural point guard, James only played one game. I'm not blaming them. I just point out more assists for our point guards and more shots for Yao is a good thing for this team in a long run.

I agree with that. but yao is to passive. hence others look less for him. yao has sooo muchhhh talent, yet for some reason he is too nice 2 punish people.

James will have a few more TO's until he gets familiar with the system. Also his shot attempts will decrease slightly as he learns to make the extra pass. However that 50% shooting from the outside is what will open up Yao & T-Mac.

James will probably be the backup point when Sura comes back. That 50% shooting will then be coming off the bench. I think this team will end up peaking at the playoffs. Sortta like the 2nd championship team. :D

James seems to be the only player besides TMac that can actually get his OWN shots from the 3PT line. He's got some good speed for drives to the baseket. I'm sure we'll see more of that.

Sura is good at getting his OWN 2PT shot by driving to the basket.

Westley is good a getting his shot from cach-and-shoot and from pick and rolls.

Barry is motsly a catch-and-shoot type scorer.

If I were Yao in the post, I'd be ready to slit my wrists. Nobody can hold me if my teammates get me the ball in the right spots. But, instead on several trips down the court, we would driblle away from Yao posting up, pass the ball around and jack a jumper up.

Now, we know Yao gets tired easily from dragging his 7 ft 6 frame up and down the court. I would feed him the ball during those spots he is fresh as much as possible.

Also, why don't we see much two man game bw Mcgrady and Yao? I'm not talking P & Rs, but McGrady and Yao on the same side of the court working a two man game? It seems like whenever we post Yao up, McGrady is on the other side just chilling like he's trying to get out the way. That ain't the way Shaq and Kobe used to work.

Give it up for my boy! 26 points last night, and an average of 22.5 points in 2 games for the Rockets. I cannot wait to have Sura back and have these two run the floor together, its going to be beautiful. How bout someone makes a sign for the next home game that says "I'm Mike James Bit*h!"
