I keep seeing threads saying let's pick up _______ or _______ well can we merge all of these threads and post the exact amount under the luxury limit the Rockets are at so that we can have a legitimate discussion on who might be out there to snag without making a trade.

So we have 14 guaranteed contracts, multiple players we hold rights to overseas and no draft picks next season. Without making a trade we can pick up 1 player.

Can someone post our current salary number as it relates to the lux cap threshold

ESPN's NBA trade machine is meant to be accurate.

Rockets are currently $480,235 under LT according to it. They can sign another pro-rated min/vet min contract with that amount.

For some reason, I think Battier's contract takes him another year passed what that espn page is saying... The other 4 starters expire as shown.

Ron Artest's salary is wrong (it is $7.4M) and Jackie Butler's salary there is a team option that the Rockets declined to pick up.

Do my eyes deceive me, or can we actually not give Head a qualifying offer next year, thereby taking him off our books?! Hooray.

Justin Reed had a player option for 2008-09. When the Rockets waived him in 2007, his player option was deemed exercised, so he is officially on the Rockets' payroll for this season.

The Rockets, on the other hand, had a TEAM option on Jackie Butler for 2008-09. When they waived Butler in 2007, the team declined the team option, so he was officially OFF the Rockets' payroll as of the end of the 2007-08.
