How a girl can cause you grief 101...

Talk about a nice gesture gone wrong. I have been dating my girlfriend for four years today, and just learned from her that she sent ROSES to my OFFICE!!! They should get here in the next hour or so. What a complete disaster. The whole office is going to be like.. what the $%^#! Any thoughts on how to get out of this one?

LADIES... NEVER SEND FLOWERS TO A GUY AT HIS WORK.. NEVER!!!

Great, our coach is nuts. I would love for a woman to execute such a gesture for me, you ungrateful punk.

The gesture is nice, don't get me wrong... but I don't think flowers for a guy at the workplace is a great idea. Would rather have them sent to the apt.

Am I the only one thinking this way?

I thought this was going to be a story about how jeff from vandy got kicked in the nads. If this is the worst thing a woman ever does to you, you've obviously only been dating her like a week. :D

    jeff,
Please explain. I'm serious. Is it embarrassing? Is it that you don't want all the work hotties to see someone digs you? If it's the latter, let me assure you that getting flowers at work will only make you hotter to the hotties.

Are you allergic? Do you work at a funeral home? I mean, what's the story?

I could see that. There definitely aren't many guys with flowers on their desk at my place of business.

Do you work at an auto mechanic shop or a beerjoint?

If not, don't worry about it!

This reminds me of the thread where some dude didn't like polo shirts, and everyone thought he was nuts.

I can't remember who that was....

Well if you don't mind getting ridiculed by your co-workers, then getting flowers isn't a problem. In fact, I was giving the guy in the cube across from mine crap about flowers just a couple of days ago. My manager walked by his cube, and made a cheap wisecrack as well.

As far as the gesture goes, it's clear that she wants you to give it to her in the pooper.

Flowers at work wouldn't bother me.

But then again, if I lost 50 lbs, wore some nice clothes, and paid more attention to my hair, I'd be a metrosexual.

I think we ran that fool off the board. Last I heard, he's hanging out at the Rainforest Cafe with his explorer's duds and faulty pair of binoculars.

So, um, I hear the Rockets will be selling polos with the new logo on them, anybody else thinking of picking some up?

If I got flowers at the office, I'd get comments, but not wisecracks. I wouldn't have a problem with it. Not sure if it is you (and how secure you feel in your manhood :p ) or the corporate culture.

Easy, just tell the reception in advance to hold the flowers for you there & you can pick it later when everyone is gone...
