If the buzz around the league is that Butler is really that good then why not draft him number one. I know that small forwards come a dime a dozen but if you look at about 3/4 of the really great players in the league they are small forwards (Pierce, TMac, Carter, Bryant, etc) and if this guy can play then why not draft him. People pass on greatness all the time in favor of height and that isn't what wins championships. Give me Pierce over Kandi any day and give me Butler (if the hype is true) over Ming any day.

If Butler is really the guy that the Rockets want then they can trade down and get him.

Is it better to be safe than sorry? Also, if we can trade down and get him, propose a trade that logically works out for us. Keep in mind cap restrictions, player availability, etc.

i'm guessing butler is supposed to be a shane battier...you know he's ready for the nba now and can contribute now and will be a good player, but he doesn't have as much potential as say, yao ming or jay williams or tyson chandler (goin bakc to last year).
