Francis - Defense. I think it was the timberpups broadcaasters who called him a 6'3" Kobe Bryant. The difference is that Kobe plays on both sides of the ball. Steve and Mooch are about the worst PG rotation in the league on defense. He has all the physical tools, but the intensity isn't there. Mobley - Passing. I disagree with the popular opinion that Mobley doesn't want to pass. I think he is just not very good at it. Most of his passes are mediocre, while others are downright awful. He needs to run that 989 Skills Challenge about 100 times a day. Posey - Shooting. With the weapons on this team, the SF spot gets open looks at 18+ feet nearly every time down the court. Steve, Cat, and Ming can all draw double teams. If Posey could become almost automatic on his wide open looks, there is no stopping our offense. Griffin - On ball defense. Shot blocks are great, but he spends way to much time getting backed down into the post. His game on offense sure isn't based on speed, so he needs to hit the weight room with a vengeance. He could be like Jermaine O'Neal. Yao - Agressiveness. I was thinking about putting getting jump balls, but I think this is more important. Yao sometimes seems to lack killer instict. He is 7'5"+ and around 300 pounds. He needs to impose his will on his defenders. I would like to see fewer Barkley like dropsteps and Hakeem turnaround jumpers and more Shaq back em down to the basket. Once he gets deep position, no backhanded layups, gather and dunk the ball.
Please add: Francis: Getting people involved and decision making EG: Hitting open shots Yao: Stamina and strength
I want EG to work on his ball handling and getting to the hoop off the dribble. He's finally found his post game and if he develops his jump hook his post game will be complete. He will be very hard to stop if he can take someone to the hole off the dribble.
Francis: Play within himself. Steve's biggest problem is that he tries to do too much. As a result, he gets himself into trouble and makes mistakes. Mobley: Allow the game to come to him. He tries too often to take over on the court but often to the detriment of his teammates. The games where he has played within the flow of the game have been his big games. Posey: Stay within your game. Don't try to be what you are not. Play the same great defense and take the open shots. Go to the basket and run the floor. But, don't try to go outside your game particularly on offense. Griffin: Get to the basket often and good things will happen. He won't be able to learn to arc his jumper until the offseason so, he needs to dive to the hole and make things happen - rebounding, running the floor, getting passes from his teammates inside. The games he has done that this year are the games he has scored well and the Rockets have played well. Yao: Be more agressive. His skills are obvious. If he is more agressive, more shots will fall and he'll get to the line a lot more. Other than that, he's been good.
