its the most unlucky pick in draft history. 8/11 0f the past 15th picks have been a bust! 2001--hunter (haywood, tinsley and parker were available) 2000--collier 1999--wies 1997--cato 1995--b. barry (ratliff and finley were available) 1993--doug edwards 1992--peeler (cristie, spreewell, and p.j. brown were available) 1991--anthony avent a popular suggestion on this bbs lately has been to use the #15 to address our center needs. lets trade it for a proven player to address our needs.
that's not a reason to trade away the 15. If there is still talent projected to be there you don't trade it away simply because there have been busts at the number you picked at. cmon...
so what you are saying is that there IS talent beyond the 15th pick.... if you know how to recognize it?!
I know it's been said a lot in the past, and will continue to be said for centuries to come on this board...but....hind-sight is always 20-20. At the time of the drafts, most of those picks seemed good. I say we wait and: a) find out exactly who is declaring for the draft (if Dunleavy chooses not too, then 'theoretically' everyone behind him moves up a place), b) keep our ears open to offers from teams around the league. Who knows? Maybe that one unbelievable deal will pop up. c) keep both eyes on Yao Ming. All the time. Maybe even teach some of our players how to speak Chinese.... d) get all our players ready for the start of next season. The offseason can never start to early. e) keep this board up and running by suggesting out of this world trades. KG for Cato + #1 pick...
