Let me first say that I am a fan of offense. Maybe its because I'm somewhat old school. I started watching basketball when a 100 points was a low scoring game.

In the last 3 years, I've seen about a half season of enjoyable basketball and obviously it was during our run last year. Watching the rockets under JVG just isn't that fun for me. He's a good coach but his brand of basketball just isn't fun to watch. Call me crazy but I like seeing the ball go through the hoop.

Some of you will argue that defense wins championships which is true as long as you can get the ball in the hoop. In our last championship season, we averaged 103.5 points a game. Tell me you would kill to see us score that much in game. The lakers were a popular champions because they scored alot points. The spurs aren't because they don't.

These are my feelings and it has nothing to do with our success. I just hate the thought that we will be consistently one of the lowest scoring teams regardless of success for the forseeable future. Obviously winning would ease the pain a little. ;)

during the winning streaks and playoffs wins from last season.. it is really the offense got us going.. i dont see any signs of JVG's style during those winning games. So as conclusion, JVG is good coach but his style dont win us games. and I also believe with Yao, Wesley, or Bowen these type of players, and everyone else plays hard, no matter how offensive we play, a decent defense is there.

i'm not with you on this one.

JVG's offense was what we were playing. players don't just come up with stuff. have you ever seen gundy on the side line waving his arm for the PG to push the ball up court? he does it almost every time. what we saw last year was jvg's offense fun the way he wants it:

push the ball and try to get an easy basket. if there is nothing, then re-set and run a play.

i believe than once we get barry and DA back the offence will take care of itself because we will have plenty of shooters to go with yao and tmac + rafer pushing the ball.

my concern is the opposite of yours: the defense.

our guards have proven that they can't stop penetration. our PF's have proven that they can't guard anyone one-on-one. that is a killer in the west with all of the all-star PF's.
