I wonder how long until cuneo77 gets to the "I love you man" stage of drunkeness.

i know what you're saying but we may not have another year. If you gotta chance to win it, like I think we do this year, you just go with that, and let all that other stuff ride.

as long as Yao and Tracy, the core two players, dont age rapidly in one year, we'll be alright.

The difference is back then our best players were the oldest players on the team.

Now, our best players are the youngest on the team.

Our short-term goal is for the 2 stars to gain more playoff experience.

Our long-term goal is to find a young, aggressive player (either at PG or PF) to complement our superstars.

... a very legitimate concern, and one I've shared. I was not happy with the Wesley/Jackson/Boki trade. I really didn't want us to give up on Boki, since we desperately need young talent to grow and go along with TMac and Yao.

But, I think that trade was a lot of addition by subtraction. Its the same reason I don't think that Mo will be with the team past the trading deadline.

What JVG now has is a team that does it his way. Its about TEAM. Even though they are older, they leave it all out on the floor every night. They pass the ball, they "get it," and have high basketball IQs. JVG went to veterans who knew how to truly play the game. And, now that he's no longer fighting them to do it his way, he's giving them freedom.

So, now, whenever anyone new is added to the team, there is a standard set. We can add younger players now, and I'm sure we will.

You and me both, Sherlock. And the thing is so many trades, more than half of them i would say, go down right at the deadline. More than about 40% of the trades happen right at the deadline and are announced when the deadlines over.

I wonder how much of Mo's trade value will be left by the end of the season. A 1 for 2 deal will be another downgrade.
