I remember the dark day in March when I joined the dark side and started cheering for losses.

Today feels much the same on a different topic. :(

(This started as a reply to TB, but got off topic in a hurry. )

No secret as well I do like Steve and I speak for many who are going to post. However, Steve is starting to bring too much bullchip baggage with him and as many would say why the hell should we bow down to 1 player. Steve has done nothing in this league to obtain the power and respect he thinks he deserves. Has he gotten us to the playoffs? No. Is he healthy? Who knows?

Steve needs to realize that he stands on the brink of the precipice. One step and he could be the next Stephon Marbury. I have no doubt that Baron Davis and Andre Miller would kill to play with a team built around Cuttino, Ming, and Griffin. Heck, according to rumors, MoT and Rice are even going to ball this year.

Hmmm...put me in the Pro-Ming/Anti-inmates running the asylum camp. I respect the Rockets organization. They are professional and very intelligent. That means that they will put up with a little bullchip from the players as long as it doesn't hurt the organization.

I don't believe that Steve has enough skills to wrap the Rockets organization around his pinkie, in 2002. You know what? I don't believe that Steve has the cajones to pull it off either. Steve's best case scenario - the rockets choose the player of his choice and max out at Western Conference finals. Steve's likely result? A trade to Chicago, New Orleans, or Cleveland. Chicago is the only potentially desirable place - and wait until Steve tries to work with that organization!

Rockets organization's worst scenario? Your pick of Jay Will, Andre Mill, or Baron D running the point of a very talented team. Not a huge difference in talent and if it gets rid of a chemistry killer, it would be well worth it. (Not to mention 3 years of cap relief if Jay Will is picked).

In conclusion, TroyBaros has convinced me he's legit - not that there's anything good about that. Steve needs to shape up the attitude or get shipped -- and the Rocket's organization needs to follow their hearts and minds and do the right Ming.

I stand confident that they will.

Do not despair Rockets' fans! If it's this dark, dawn must be coMING!!!

The problem is that your worst case scenario is highly optimistic. Cleveland didn't want to pay Miller the max, but they'll pay Steve? A trade won't happen if he doesn't agree to sign long term, which he won't. New Orleans, they'll stick with Baron unless they get an unbeliavable offer, Steve isn't that offer and once again, there's no guarantee that he'll sign long term, so why would they do it. Chicago, sure they would want Steve, but if they stick with J Will, they get a guy who will be just as good in a couple of years and will make a lot less. This is a place where Steve would re-sign, but if your chicago, you take two good players over one. Meaning they would rather use that cap space to get another FA. So, worst case scenario is that Steve opts for free agency and leaves us high and dry. Or we can trade him somewhere else, but all we would get is some cap fillers and a draft pick. Also, even if he is mad, Steve is just going to suck it up and not say anything unless we have another bad year. Instead of all this negative bs, we should all get the mojo going and hope that this rumored hissy fit is just that, a rumor.
