Impossible to clinch by Friday, can I change my vote to wishful thinking?

Just so you know - you got some errors up there: April 14 is a Friday.

We are talking about 2006, right?

I'm keeping the faith, I'll say Friday. I'm assuming the Rockets beat the Clippers. If they do, then we'll need Portland to lose at home to Golden State tonight, or @San Antonio Friday. Then a Rockets win against Portland clinches the playoff spot. If this team rolls over like dogs against the Clippers then god help us.

Impossible to clinch by Friday, can I change my vote to wishful thinking?

That's not a true. If the Rockets beat the Clippers and Nuggets and Portland loses the Rockets clinch a playoff spot. Why? With a win over the Nuggets (assuming the Rockets beat the Clippers or Denver loses tonight to Phoenix) the Nuggets are officially eliminated from the race for the #7 seed. And, with a Portland loss, the Rockets would be 3 games up on Portland (in the loss column) with 3 games left, and the best Portland could do is tie with the Rockets, and the Rockets won the season series. So a Rockets win today and Friday, and a Portland loss today or Friday clinches a playoff berth for the Rocks Friday.
