I have seen many on-line dating sites, but the one that I am using right now might be the best one of them all. It is www.cupidjunction.com and it is pretty easy to use. You sign up for "free" and enter your relevant information. You then start searching for women that you might think would be good matches for you. When you find someone that you think is a good match, you have one of two options: 1) You can send a message to this person free but they would have to pay like $5 to respond OR 2) You can "pre-pay" or pay the $5 yourself and then send the message. That way they don't have to pay anything to respond to you (I think this is the safe way to do things). I have already had several messages with this one girl who likes Radiohead! She told me that her favorite album by them is "Insominiac" (she meant "Amnesiac"). Anyhoo, I got her phone number and will give her a call sometime tonight. I know PSJ has touted match.com, but I think this site is better. The only bad thing is that many of the people on this site do NOT post their pictures....oh well, just a minor technicality. Ya'll might remember my thread about match.com a couple of weeks ago. After meeting three girls from there I got a very strange and bad vibe and quit. One of them was very wierd, one of them was very slutty an wanted me to help her with her lesbian lover and the last one wanted to get married right away. I also discovered that pictures can be very misleading in both directions. Girls whose pictures didn't look so good turned out to be better looking that girls whose pictures looked great. From now on if I am sticking to the singles scene and the grocery store. Everybody has to go to the grocery store so that is a good cross section of people to choose from, no bias. Now that I am 25 I am brave enough to just walk up to a girl in the store and ask her out. It has actually worked so you ought to give it a try. Sure you meet some married people and you get turned down, but at my age you get numb to that kind of stuff.
Grocery store kicks ass. There's alot of Hot moms. MILFs. The best thing I like about it, is that when they pay with checks, I try to remember where they live, and their TDL number. Or, if they aren't cute, but real assholes, I will write down where you live, and throw toilet paper, and light up a paper bag of dog****, and drop it on your front yard.

Try dancing. The girls in dancing class want you to hold them. You get to talk for 30 sec, touch for 1.5 min, then leave. All you need is a sense of humor, good hygene, and the patience to learn a few steps. I'm sure there's a university ballroom club wherever you are. Salsa is fun, and its fun to go out with the girls in your class to the club. Asian clubs are even better. All that headphone music you chase keeps you alone. Try something new.

moballs, I'm in the same position. My wife is Chicana. She has wanted me to do this for years. I wonder if they can teach complete idiots with a mental block against learning dance steps. Thanks for the info. Maybe I should make this one of my new year resolutions.
There's some free lessons at the clubs early. I think Tropicana has them on Tues. Azteca has casino (salsa round dance). Very basic. The llu link takes you to SSQQ - a very basic social dance studio. It's ok - but there's better out there. You might try Gloria Jones at The Dance Place on Beverly Hills (off Chimney Rock, near Richmond). She has some popular group lessons. There are other groups at other studios around town, and then there are private lessons. The University of Houston social dance club meets on Sundays in the cougar den under the student center and its very cheap (35 a semester) and they have some salsa mixed in with the program. There are some good independant teachers at King Dancing Center on South Rice at Glenmont. I'd try the free stuff at Tropicana or Elvia's first. Call the club and they'll let you know the schedule for the week. Crystal had some, too. Re: asian clubs : Mini Club, Rainbow Dancing, Melody Club, and Ocean Palace have dancing nights, with bands playing a mix of songs for partner dancing. Some attractive Vietnamese girls, there. There's ususally some cha cha cha, tango, paso doble, waltz, bolero, rumba, viennese waltz, and other forms as adopted by vietnamese and thai artists. I'll be glad to link more another time.
