*Averaging about 16ppg in about 20 minutes of playing time, in preseason. *While scoring more than 50%,both,from outside of the perimeter and inside. *Out rebounding almost anyone else in his positions, both, SF or PF. *Great hustle play, both, offensively and defensively. *Great chemistry with the other great fellas on the court. If he would keep in that manner, of course he would be part of the starting lineup for Houston, or if to be honest, of any other NBA team. because if he does what he do in a 20 minutes of a playing time, you may do the math yourself, in a 35 minutes of a playing time. He stats, fight, attack, defend, make a difference, like an All Star. I guess that he feels, first time, since joining the NBA, at home, in Houston Rockets and he adjusted perfectly to Houston Rockets system. Playing in a better system, with a better players and with a top notch coach, probably take the best out of him. What are your thoughts, fellas?
2 years on that min. contract NICE ! wish it was 3-4 but know it would have been a gamble for morey. we bascially have a smaller ryan anderson for 1/8 the price casspi 1.3 mill anderson 8.3 mill
Terrence Jones - A Lesser Howard Meet Your Starting PF Robert Covington D-Mo the next Dirk Marcus "Melo with Defense" Morris Scott "The Answer" Machado Is Royce White the Next Rodman Now we got a new one Omri Casspi- All Star Potential Thanks!!
I like him and I'm cheering for him but he is no all-star. We need role players and he should be a good one. Asik and Parson are the only other potential All-Stars and we know that won't happen for Asik on this team unless Dwight gets hurt.
You might be getting carried away, OP. I think we're all excited about what we've seen from Casspi in preseason, but maybe we should play a few of the games that count before anointing him a future All Star.
I understand your enthusiasm as Omri has been a pleasant surprise. I personally prefer to wait until about a quarter (20 games) of the regular season has been played before making any player evaluations. I will be ecstatic if he continues to perform as he has. All star is quite a reach though.
