Did anyone see the Laker's and Magic game on ABC? The magic choked and you can't blame it on McGrady. Rod Strickland loses Rick Fox and lets him make the tying three....Strickland loses the ball to fisher....they turn the ball over by backcourt violation....then Giricek doesn't pass him the ball for the last shot and gets blocked not once, but twice. After the first block Mcgrady just turned around and started walking to the lockerroom and pulled his jersey up in disgust. He's gotta want to be dealt asap. Hopefully the rockets can pick him up.

On a related note, in his halftime interview he said a lot of things I would like to have heard from Steve, namely how he can't afford to stay out all night because of the responsibility he has on his shoulders...

More like pissed at the refs...

Derek Fisher gets away with a blatant reaching foul to get the steal...he leaned into Strickland to snatch the ball away.

And then on the last shot Payton defenses Giricek with his leg across the upper body while he blocks the shot. Giricek could have leaned forward to get a shot off if there wasn't a leg coming across his body.

Also, the Rockets are no better with Mcgrady than they are with Steve and Cat. If anything, they need a more conventional PG.

No, I'm pretty sure McGrady was pissed at his teammates. Did anyone see his face after the game? He sounded kinda mad (and actually kinda depressed) at why he wasn't given the last shot. I think he wants out of Orlando.

Orlando did everything it could to hand over the game to the Lakers. That was one terrible finish to a game I have ever seen.

First it is dribbled out of bounds, then losses it out of bounds. Then to top it all off, Strickland hands Fisher the ball who feeds Payton for the layup to win the game. Just TERRIBLE.

And Rick Freakin Fox hit the game tying 3 pointer, only his SECOND three of the entire season!

Oh, c'mon! You know that team will turn around once Grant Hill comes back from his ankle injury.

Seriously though, I hope the Tragic continue to flounder until McGrady demands a trade. If the Rockets underperform in the postseason(it would take a major injury or an act of God to not make it this year), then see if Orlando would take Steve and Kelvin Cato in a deal involving T-Mac.

Why do people always assume that other teams will trade their best players? If Steve weren't the problem here, as T_Mac clearly isn't in Orlando, would we want to trade him, or his teammates. Or, 3 years ago, when Steve was clearly our best player, but surrounded by poor talent, was our solution to trade Steve? No..we all wanted better surrounding talent.

The Magic are on pace for the 1st overall pick, by the odds, or at least as high pick. When we were about to add Yao to Steve, were we poised to trade the Franchise? And McGrady is much better than Steve was...

Now if he demands a trade, that's different. But until then, this dosen't make sense.

Hey, just remember - noone expected Phoenix to trade Marbury this season either. I say why not dream?

True...but marbury wasn't one of the top 5 players in the league, either. Not saying that that is all the difference needed to disprove your point, just noting it. Who knows, and speculation is fun. When he was in Toronto recently McGrady hinted that he wished he were back here playing with Vince, and the papers went bonkers speculating. Maybe I'm just knee jerk because of that.

Rockets won't even consider dealing Steve til his BYC status is up in the offseason, and the Magic won't even think of dealing McGrady til they've at the very least seen whether Grant Hill's comeback towards the end of the season will work or not. If a deal was to be done with McGrady in the offseason I'd bet they'd try and deal Grant Hill as well depending on whether his comeback is promising or not. If his comeback is promising, they won't deal McGrady. If it isn't, it's possible they'll try and force G. Hill with T-Mac to relieve capspace and start over while getting a star player in return (i.e. a guy like Francis.)

Ha I was just thinking about when Grant Hill was a T-Mac for the midninties. And I got very sad.

Man used to be up there with Pippen. Tragic.

Well I don't have the tape, but I don't recall Mcgrady really being open to get the ball off of the inbounds pass. Every time it seemed like Giricek was the only one...maybe it was drawn up that way, and if so then he should be pissed at his coach rather than his teammates. I don't blame him for being mad...his team has the worst record in the league. The refs certainly didn't call it fair down the stretch though.

with less than a second in the clock it's very tough for Giricek to pass it to McGrady and let TMac shoot

Yeah, he also whined about the zone defense shutting him down and about how he lost passion for the game and considered retiring...

    Screw Tracy McBaby...
