I don't plan on watching the around the clock coverage on CNBC or anything, just the stuff at night on NBC. Not going to check any webpages that may give the info away. So, I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I'd appreciate it if one made it clear in the title whether or not they were giving away who won the event, or if any other significant thing happens in the event. Thanks much.
I'm watching the opening ceremonies in HD. It's so abstract and boring, that I have that awful show "Stump the Schwab" on PIP right now!
I don't know. Maybe b/c he's fat and sits at home reading and watching sports and never plays them? Seriously, the way he shows off his knowledge by telling tidbits no one asks for in a smug way is really annoying. But I am strangely drawn to this train wreck of a show. It's surreal seeing his fat mug in PIP side by side with a huge multimillion dollar production in Athens.
dang, very nice reception for the american delegation in the parade of nations. unless they were lying they said he's a reseacher for ESPN (or maybe just specifically for sportscenter) and has been there for a while so that's how he's accumulated all that knowledge.
The torch lighting along with the fireworks were terrific. I thought team USA's uniforms were a little NBA warm-up-ish.
These were the first ceremonies that got me absokuteky oumped to watch the Olympics. Rock on Greece. Rock on. Of Course I'm something of a Hellephile.
Awesome opening ceremony. Costumes were incredible and the number of different characters seemed endless. Good job Greece!
Those hats were awful... Somebody tell ESPN radio to not tell us which Americans won medals...Bastards spoiled it for me.
"He's just awkward enough that he's tough to figure out" - MSNBC Announcer on an Uzbekistani(Or maybe it was the Turkish one) boxer. Also, I don't know who the color guy is, but watching him try to pronounce some of the more difficult names will be one of the highlights of the tournament for me.
just wondering why nbc.com is now showing the medal tally based on medal total as opposed to the normal gold medal total.. seems convenient
lol... yeah if we went by golds... we'd be like fifth after Japan... they should do the G*3 + S*2 + B deal
