What up Rockets fans...Does anyone by chance now where I could access old box scores from the 1995 WCF? I am trying to resolve a bet with a moron Spurs friend of mine and could easily prove my point if i could find those darn box scores. I searched through the Clutchcity.net Archives and couldn't find it. Thanks in advance if someone can help me out here.

I have it in my computer at home. I can post it here tomorrow. I think I can even find a legacy link to USAtoday.com which includes recap/boxscore of every 95 playoff games since midway from the Rockets-Suns series. I saved most of the htmls in my harddisk.

    (ADDING QUOTES)

    HOUSTON 94, SAN ANTONIO 93
    --------------------------

Robert Horry's 18-footer with 6.5 seconds to play lifted the
Houston Rockets to a 94-93 victory over the host San Antonio
Spurs in the first game of the Western Conference finals.

"I don't have words to describe that team in there," Rockets
coach Rudy Tomjanovich said. "They have the biggest hearts in
the world. They never gave up hope or stopped believing. The
Spurs are a great team, they have the best record in the league.
It's amazing what these guys can do when they hang together."

After San Antonio forward Sean Elliott missed a pair of free
throws with 26.6 seconds left, the Rockets called timeout and
    set up a play.

Hakeem Olajuwon had the ball in the lane before kicking it out
to Horry at the left wing. After faking a pass to Sam Cassell to
draw Spurs point guard Avery Johnson away from him, Horry
stepped up and made the jumper.

Elliott missed a running nine-footer in the lane in the final
    seconds.

"We were very aggressive, but we didn't play smart," Elliott
said. "I hope we're not falling into the same trap that Utah and
Phoenix did. Tonight, we didn't come out and try to smash them."

Olajuwon finished with 27 points, eight rebounds and six assists
for the Rockets, who have won four consecutive playoff games and
won for just the second time in seven tries against San Antonio
this season. Olajuwon played the final 8:10 of regulation with
    five fouls.

"I don't know about our confidence level, we just look at our
situation and play basketball -- team basketball," Olajuwon
said. "If we have the same effort and play the same, we can do
    it again."

Elliott finished with 24 points and David Robinson added 21 for
the Spurs, who are the top seed in the West.

Game Two is Wednesday at San Antonio.

Robinson had made one of two free throws with 45.9 seconds
remaining to give San Antonio a 93-92 lead. Houston worked the
ball inside to Olajuwon on the ensuing possession, but Doc
Rivers came from behind on Olajuwon's right to make a steal and
it led to Elliott getting fouled while driving the lane.

Cassell tied the game, 92-92, when he made a pair of free throws
with 1:41 to play after Johnson had given San Antonio a
two-point lead at the 1:50 mark with a field goal. Elliott's
basket tied the game with 2:14 left.

Mario Elie, whose three-pointer propelled the defending N-B-A
champions to victory in Game Seven of the Western Conference
semifinals over Phoenix, made another three-pointer, this one
with 2:32 to play, giving the Rockets a 90-88 lead. Robinson
made a pair of free throws that gave San Antonio an 88-87
    advantage with 2:56 remaining.

Elie finished with 16 points off the bench, making 4-of-5
three-pointers and 5-of-9 from the field overall. Houston's
bench outscored the Spurs reserves, 28-18.

Olajuwon and Robinson traded free throws after Drexler made a
pair of free throws with 3:37 to play, giving Houston an 85-84
lead. Robinson had snapped a, 83-83 tie when he made one of two
    foul shots with 4:07 left.

Robinson shot 5-of-17 from the field and grabbed nine rebonds.
Dennis Rodman, who grabbed 20 rebounds in the losing effort, did
not play in the final 45.9 seconds and was on the bench taking
off his sneakers during San Antonio's final timeout.

"We made a lot of mistakes in the first half but we were still
winning," Spurs coach Bob Hill said. "It was the worst
performance we've had in the playoffs so far. We missed fourteen
free throws, it was a poor performance all the way around, no
    excuses."

Out of Houston's four consecutive victories, three have come on
the road, including two at Phoenix in the conference semifinals.
The Rockets have played the maximum 13 games so far in the
playoffs and have knocked off the Suns and the Utah Jazz in the
playoffs, two teams with 119 wins between them.

Elliott's four-point play in the final seconds in the first half
gave San Antonio a 53-52 lead. Johnson, who had nine assists,
scored 14 of his 18 points in the first half for the Spurs.

Houston outscored the Spurs, 22-15, in the third quarter as
Drexler and Olajuwon combined for 15.

There were 14 ties and 17 lead changes in the game. Neither team
shot well, as the Rockets made 36-of-85 from the field (42 per
cent) and San Antonio connected on 33-of-78 (42 per cent). The
Spurs missed 14 of their 39 free throws, while Houston made
    17-of-21 from the foul line.

    (UPDATING -- ADDING QUOTES)

    HOUSTON 106, SAN ANTONIO 96
    ---------------------------

Robert Horry and Hakeem Olajuwon scored all the points in a key
14-3 fourth-quarter run as the Houston Rockets took a two games
to none lead in the Western Conference finals with a 106-96
victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

Olajuwon finished with 41 points and 16 rebounds and Horry had
21 points on 5-of-9 shooting from three-point range for Houston,
which won both games on San Antonio's home court.

"Hakeem is great and he rises to the occasion," said Rockets
coach Rudy Tomjanovich. "We have to keep up the intensity. San
Antonio is the best running team in the league, and we did a
good job stopping their running game."

Clyde Drexler added 23 points for the Rockets, who have won five
consecutive playoff games and four straight on the road.

"We came in with good focus and played very well," Drexler said.
"It's good to come away with the two wins and we're looking
forward to Game Three. We expect the Spurs to be ready."

David Robinson scored 32 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for San
Antonio, which played most of the second half without the
N-B-A's leading rebounder, Dennis Rodman. Rodman was available
to play but did not see action after the opening minutes of the
third quarter. He scored four points and grabbed eight rebounds
    in 17 minutes.

"It had nothing to do with Dennis," said Spurs coach Bob Hill.
"It was all about a chess match, it was all about momentum. We
    needed offense on the floor."

The Rockets can close out the best-of-seven series at home when
it moves to Houston for Games Three and Four on Friday and
    Sunday.

"I felt like we would play better," Robinson said. "It was a
tough loss. It was not a very Spur-like game. We're a great
road team. We're going into foreign territory. We'll play the
best we can and see what happens."

Houston held a 49-41 advantage at the half and opened the third
    quarter with an 11-4 run, taking a 60-47 lead on a three-pointer
by Drexler with 7:58 left in the period.

The Spurs closed within six points heading into the final
stanza, then began the fourth quarter with a 14-6 spurt to take
an 82-80 lead on a three-pointer by Chuck Person with 7:40 to
    play.

Olajuwon answered back with a short jumper to trigger the
decisive run. Horry hit two three-pointers in the spurt, which
ended with Olajuwon's two free throws with 3:20 remaining for a
    94-85 lead.

The Spurs pulled within four points at 96-92, but Sam Cassell
drilled a three-pointer with 1:22 remaining to boost the lead
    back up to five.

San Antonio made another basket to close within five, but
Olajuwon iced it with a short jumper for a 101-94 advantage with
    53 seconds left.

Cassell finshed seven points and seven assists for the Rockets,
who lost five of six to San Antonio during the regular season.

Doc Rivers scored 16 points and Sean Elliott added 12 for the
    Spurs.

The teams have not met in the playoffs since the 1981
post-season. Houston eliminated the Spurs in seven games in the
conference semifinals. The Rockets also bounced San Antonio in
the first round of the 1980 playoffs.

    (UPDATING -- ADDING QUOTES)

    SAN ANTONIO 107, HOUSTON 102
    ----------------------------

David Robinson scored 29 points and Avery Johnson added 20,
including five free throws in the final minute, to lead the San
Antonio Spurs to a 107-102 victory over the Houston Rockets in
    the Western Conference finals.

Sean Elliott scored 21 points and grabbed seven rebounds from
the Spurs, who still trail the best-of-seven series, two games
    to one.

"Well, we were overdue for a performance and we got one," said
San Antonio coach Bob Hill. "I felt comfortable we would be in
a position to win, because I felt a presence early in the game."

Hakeem Olajuwon finished with 43 points, 11 rebounds and five
blocked shots for the Rockets, who had won five straight playoff
games, including the first two of the series on the road.

"I don't think we play harder on the road, but we play with a
greater sense of urgency," Hill said. "Believe me, I've been
looking into this. It's a tribute to our team that 34 was that
    great and we still won."

Robinson scored six of his points in a 9-2 run midway through
the fourth quarter that gave San Antonio the lead for good.

"There's only so much talk you can take before you can go out
and get down to it," Robinson said. "My biggest concern wasn't
that we were down 2-0, it was that we hadn't even played
    basketball yet."

After Olajuwon hit a jumper to knot the game at 89-89 with 6:10
to play, Johnson sank two free throws, Robinson hit a short
jumper and two free throws for a 95-89 lead with 4:20 to play.

Olajuwon scored on a dunk to cut the deficit to four, but
Elliott drilled a three-pointer and Robinson hit another short
jumper for a 100-91 advantage with 2:06 remaining.

Robert Horry hit a three-pointer, breaking Houston's string of
eight straight misses from long range, to close within six with
1:44 to play. After Dennis Rodman made one of two free throws,
Kenny Smith drained another three-pointer to pull to 101-97 with
    1:27 left.

The Rockets had a chance to cut it to two, but Olajuwon missed a
    wide-open 10-footer with 49 seconds to play.

Johnson began the run at the free throw line with two makes, but
Olajuwon buried a three-pointer to pull within 103-100 with 32
seconds left. Johnson made two more free throws, however, and
Drexler missed a three-pointer with 18 seconds left.

"Avery is arguably our spiritual leader, he played great," Hill
said. "He came into the game injured and still played as hard
    as he could."

Houston held a 61-52 lead at the half and extended the cushion
to 11 points early in the third quarter before the Spurs came
alive. Del Negro hit a jumper to spark a 13-0 run and capped
the burst with a layup to give San Antonio a 68-66 lead with
    5:07 left in the period.

"We really rely on our inside-outside game and Vinnie is an
integral part," Robinson said. "That was huge, making those
    shots."

"The game was very well-played by both teams," said Houston
coach Rudy Tomjanovich. "We played inspired in the first half
and took a lead, but they deserve some credit for coming back.
They played good defense and whenever they had an open three,
    they hit it."

Del Negro finished with 19 points and Johnson added 13 assists
for San Antonio, which took five of six from Houston during the
regular season. Rodman, after a controversial benching for most
of the second half of Game Two, grabbed 14 rebounds in 37
    minutes.

"Vinnie has been under some pressure because he hasn't been
shooting well," Hill said. But he hasn't been shooting, because
    we haven't been running."

Drexler finished with 21 points, nine rebounds and six assists
for the Rockets while Horry had 17 points.

    GAME RECAP
David Robinson scored 20 points and grabbed 16 rebounds and
Vinny Del Negro added 19 points as the San Antonio Spurs evened
the Western Conference finals at two games apiece with a 103-81
    victory over the Houston Rockets.

Dennis Rodman scored 12 points and pulled down 19 rebounds for
San Antonio, which dropped the first two games of the
best-of-seven series at home but has regrouped to win two on the
road. The Spurs have won four straight road playoff games and
are 5-1 on the road in the postseason.

"Now it all boils down to who can steal a victory at home," said
San Antonio coach Bob Hill. "If I could explain it, I'd do
something about it. I think we've learned a big lesson in the
first four games. We've gotten a refresher course on what we
    need to do to win."

"Maybe we should just stay here and finish the series," Del
    Negro said.

The Spurs held a commanding 64-39 rebounding advantage over the
Rockets, including 24-10 off the offensive glass.

"Our rebounds were huge," Robinson said. "We have a size
advantage, and with Dennis we always have a rebound advantage.
He made a lot of smart plays and passes. He was as focused as
    I've ever seen him."

"I thought we played good enough defense to win, but then you
throw in 24 extra possessions, that's too much to give a good
team," said Houston coach Rudy Tomjanovich. "We used to be a
very good home team, but this year it just hasn't happened. When
I find out what (the problem) is, I'm going to go get some raid
    and kill it."

Hakeem Olajuwon scored 20 points for the defending champion
Rockets, who are trying to eliminate the top three teams in the
Western Conference. Houston defeated the third-seeded Utah Jazz
and second-seeded Phoenix Suns in the first two rounds.

The series returns to San Antonio Tuesday night for Game Five.

"I thought there were two keys coming into today's game," Hill
said. "The first was pace, and the second was pace. We did a
good job all day long keeping pressure on them and probing for
    easy baskets."

The Spurs took the lead for good with a 12-2 spurt to end the
first half. After Kenny Smith's dunk gave the Rockets a 43-42
lead with 3:22 left in the half, Sean Elliott dunked to trigger
the run that gave San Antonio a 54-45 advantage at the break.

Houston pulled to within 59-53 with 7:27 to play in the third
quarter on a jumper by Chucky Brown, but Elliott hit a jumper to
trigger a 10-0 burst. Robinson's layup with 3:53 left in the
period gave San Antonio a commanding 69-53 lead.

"We came out in the third disorganized, out of rhythm, and they
capitalized," Olajuwon said. "Give them credit. They had their
heads down after the first two games but they regrouped. Now
that's what we must do. In order to win a championship, you are
tested in so many situations. This is just another test."

"We've been in worse situations," Smith said. "We just need to
stop Rodman's rebounds. He killed us tonight with his
    rebounds."

Avery Johnson scored 14 points and Elliott finished with 13 as
all five San Antonio starters scored in double figures. Backup
guard Doc Rivers added 13 points in just 10 minutes, hitting all
    three of his three-pointers.

"We knew the third quarter of last game we played real well, so
we wanted to do that again," Robinson said. "That was key,
hands and feet flying, a real high energy level. Now we need to
    take that energy level home."

Smith scored 13 points and Clyde Drexler added 12 for the
    Rockets.

    GAME RECAP
Hakeem Olajuwon scored 42 points and Sam Cassell had six of his
30 in a pivotal third-quarter run as the Houston Rockets moved
within one game of returning to the N-B-A Finals with a 111-90
rout of the San Antonio Spurs.

The defending champion Rockets never trailed and won for the
third time in as many games at The Alamodome. They grabbed a
three games to two lead in the Western Conference final and can
wrap up the best-of-seven series with a home victory Thursday.
However, the home team is yet to win in this series.

"This is the strangest series I've ever been involved in," said
Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich. "I can't figure it out. They
played a good defensive game. They thought they could break the
cycle. So many of our guys pitched in tonight."

David Robinson scored 22 points and Avery Johnson added 20 for
San Antonio, which again was plagued by the antics of forward
Dennis Rodman. Coach Bob Hill pulled the league's leading
rebounder from the starting lineup after he did not practice
Monday. Rodman, who claimed to have a stuffy nose, scored five
points and left without talking to reporters.

"This was a disappointing loss," said Robinson, who like his
teammates and his coach refused to bad-mouth Rodman. "Game Five
is always a pivotal game in a seven-game series. We missed a
    lot of opportunities."

Rodman and Robinson each had 12 rebounds but their strength on
the boards was nothing like Game Four, when they combined for
    35. Rodman had 12 offensive rebounds Sunday but his early
absence certainly hurt San Antonio, which had just one offensive
rebound in the first half and allowed Houston to control the
    tempo of the game.

Olajuwon, who also had nine rebounds and eight assists, notched
his third 40-point game of the series. He is averaging 34.6
points against the Spurs despite being guarded by Robinson, the
    league's Most Valuable Player.

"We knew they had to do something like double Hakeem in order to
win," Cassell said. "When they did double he made the great
pass and when he didn't they made the big shot."

San Antonio has lost four straight home playoff games but has
won four straight on the road in the post-season. Never in a
seven-game series has the road team won every game.

The Rockets, who were pounded on the boards in two losses in
Houston, took advantage of Rodman's absence and immediately got
their running game in gear. They raced to a 10-2 lead in the
    first 2 1/2 minutes.

Rodman entered the game for the first time with 4:49 left in the
first quarter and the Spurs trailing 17-12. He had no impact as
the Rockets closed the period with a 15-6 burst. Olajuwon and
Clyde Drexler scored nine points each in the period.

Olajuwon scored 13 more points in the second quarter but the
Spurs finally got untracked. Point guards Johnson (six points)
and Doc Rivers (eight) combined for 14 points as San Antonio
    closed to 50-45 at halftime.

"Hakeem seemed like he made every shot," San Antonio coach Bob
Hill said. "We made him take tough shots and he made 'em."

The Rockets scored the first six points of the second half to
build the lead to 11 points before the Spurs began chipping
away. A jumper by Vinny Del Negro pulled San Antonio into a
71-71 tie with 2:35 left in the third quarter.

But Cassell scored eight points in an 11-2 spurt that ended the
period and gave the Rockets the lead for good. Houston pulled
away in the fourth quarter, opening its largest lead at 111-83
on a three-pointer by Pete Chilcutt with 2:16 to go.

Drexler scored 19 points, Robert Horry had 14 points and 13
rebounds and Cassell added 12 assists and sank all 12 of his
foul shots for the Rockets, who shot 49 per cent (40-of-81) from
the field and matched San Antonio with 38 rebounds.

Sean Elliott scored 14 points and Terry Cummings added 12 for
the Spurs, who shot 49 per cent (34-of-70) but committed 24
    turnovers, including seven by Robinson.

    GAME RECAP
Hakeem Olajuwon scored 39 points and the defending champion
Houston Rockets became the lowest-seeded team to reach the N-B-A
Finals with a 100-95 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Rockets defeated the Spurs in six games in the Western
Conference finals and await the winner of the Eastern Conference
finals between the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic. Houston is
trying to become the fourth straight repeat champion.

This was the first time that the home team won in the series.
Houston eliminated the top three teams in the Western Conference
-- San Antonio, Phoenix and Utah -- which had combined for 181
    wins during the regular season.

Olajuwon averaged 35.3 points per game in the series as the
Rockets reached the N-B-A Finals as a sixth seed for the second
time in franchise history. The 1981 Rockets also reached the
Finals as the sixth seed, losing to the Boston Celtics.

"If we win again, we still won't get any respect," Olajuwon
said. "The bottom line is that we respect ourselves. The city
embraced us and the fans were just fantastic."

The Spurs, who led the league with 62 wins during the regular
season, lost all three of their home games in the series and
were let down by the erratic behavior of Dennis Rodman and the
subpar play of league Most Valuable Player David Robinson.

Rodman was a constant distraction throughout the series and was
benched at the outset of the pivotal Game Five, won by Houston.
Robinson was thoroughly outplayed by Olajuwon. He missed three
free throws and committed a turnover in the final three minutes.

A free throw by Robinson gave San Antonio its last lead at 93-92
with 2:42 to play. But Robinson missed the second foul shot and
Clyde Drexler hit two free throws with 2:20 to go. Robert Horry
made a three-pointer -- his sixth of the game -- to give Houston
a 97-93 lead with two minutes left.

"Should there be another MVP vote, what do you think?" Drexler
said. "The game is fun, but it's really great to get to play
when your best friend and Hakeem is the Most Valuable Player.
I've never seen anybody on the planet that plays as good as
Hakeem. This team has a great big heart. This team works very
hard and this team has a lot of faith in itself."

Robinson missed a pair of free throws with 1:06 to go. Drexler
missed a three-pointer, but Robinson threw away a pass. Sam
Cassell grabbed the loose ball and made one free throw for a
98-93 lead with 37 seconds to play.

Rodman had a putback with 28 seconds to play to cut the deficit
to three points but Horry answered with two free throws, sealing
    the win.

Olajuwon also grabbed 17 rebounds, handed out five assists and
blocked five shots. Horry finished with 22 points and Drexler
added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Houston, which shot 46 per
cent (37-for-81) from the field and outrebounded San Antonio,
    43-42.

Robinson and Avery Johnson scored 19 points and Sean Elliott
added 18 for San Antonio, which shot 49 per cent (36-of-74).
Rodman added 14 points and 17 rebounds.

"I've never felt like this since I have been a professional,"
said Robinson. "To have such a good season and end on such a
crummy note. ... It would be nice to see Houston win, because
they played so well against us. But I don't even know if I'm
going to watch. This just feels so bad. I don't really care."

"I think you gotta give Houston lots, lots, and lots of credit,"
San Antonio coach Bob Hill said. "I thought with our rest and
our pace and their schedule that we would be able to wear them
down in the fourth quarter. We were not prepared as well as they
    were."

For them to play that kind of schedule (Houston has not had more
than one day off during the entire playoffs-including
back-to-back games) playing back-to-back just about every other
day was one of the best efforts I have ever seen."

Drexler made a steal and layup with 5:53 remaining, giving the
Rockets their biggest lead at 92-83. But San Antonio rattled
off the next 10 points to take the lead. Doc Rivers had seven
points in the run, including a pull-up baseline jumper with 3:23
    left that tied the game.

Houston had taken control of the game early in the fourth
quarter, using an 8-0 run for an 84-77 lead. Drexler had a
three-point play, Horry had a dunk and Cassell made a fast-break
layup and drew Robinson's fifth foul with 9:48 to play.

Olajuwon scored 15 of his points in the third quarter, making
7-of-8 shots. The Rockets used an 8-2 burst, capped by a jumper
by Olajuwon, to take a 58-53 lead with 7:48 left in the period.
San Antonio tied the game twice in the quarter, the last time at
    68-68 on Rodman's dunk with 2:42 left.

Kenny Smith made a jumper to give Houston a 76-72 lead with 22
seconds remaining, but Johnson made one of two free throws and
Terry Cummings rebounded the miss on Johnson's second foul shot
and laid it in, cutting the deficit to 76-75 at the end of the
    quarter.

San Antonio led 36-32 before an illegal defense call on Rodman
triggered a 10-4 run by Houston. Drexler made the technical
foul shot and Rodman flagrantly fouled Cassell in the paint with
3:02 left. Cassell made both free throws and Olajuwon scored on
the ensuing possession to give the Rockets a 37-36 lead.

Robinson and Olajuwon traded baskets, and after Johnson made a
layup, Horry made his third three-pointer of the half to make it
    42-40 with 1:25 to go.

Del Negro's two free throws with 8.2 seconds left knotted the
    game at 44-44 at intermission.

Olajuwon had 18 points and 10 rebounds in the first half for
Houston and Horry added nine, all on three-pointers.

The Rockets shot just 39 per cent from the floor (16-of-41) and
just 4-of-16 from three-point range. San Antonio didn't fare
much better, making 18-of-41 (44 per cent).

The Rockets opened the second quarter with five straight points
as Horry drilled a three-pointer and Cassell made a jumper for a
    26-21 lead.

Following a jumper by Olajuwon that made it 30-25, San Antonio
scored the next nine points. J.R. Reid made a layup, Del Negro
    completed a three-point play, Robinson sank a 17-footer and
Johnson made a runner to give the Spurs a 34-30 lead.

Olajuwon scored 10 points in the first quarter, which ended in a
21-21 tie. Rodman, who sat the first seven minutes of the first
quarter of Game Five, had six points and eight rebounds.

"Well, we still have a lot of basketball to play," Rockets coach
Rudy Tomjanovich said. "Nobody thought we'd be here. People have
counted us out, because we stood still in the off-season and
they counted us out when we made the trade (Thorpe for Drexler)"

"I told the guys that if anybody thinks about basketball
tomorrow, I'm fining them," Tomjanovich quipped.
