I used to eat at the North Freeway and Clear Lake(the short while it was open) locations. Are there any other locations still open?

My wife and I used to eat there somewhat frequently. The food was pretty good and the fruity drinks were...well, fruity. After the above locations shut down, we started going to Pappadeaux in Kemah. Just curious if any Atchafalayas were still open. :)

They're all closed down. That place was pretty damn good.

I loved that place (the one on North Freeway). I had my high school graduation party there back in 1998 with the family.

this place was awesome, I used to go to the one on 45 south when I was in Elementary, I remember telling my friends at school about it and they thought I was crazy when I mentioned the name of it :)

I think Ninfa's owned all of them and ended up closing them because of financial issues.

I used to love that place. Towards the end, the food did slip in quality though.

So where does everyone like to go to eat Cajun food nowadays?

Me...Ragin Cajun. The Mandola family took it over and expanded the menu. Not everything is fried now and some of the healthier stuff is really good. I also like Danton's.

I would eat at Papadeaux every day if I could afford to. Nothing is better than huge platters of fried Gulf seafood and fries. I also like Ragin Cajun. I've been eating at BB's at Westheimer and Montrose because it's close to where I live and work. Great poboys-- fresh shellfish. Their prices are a bit steep, too, though. They may have to rename them "richboys" soon.

I'm always surprised when I get my bill at Ragin Cajun. Because the bill looks like I ate at a lot nicer restaurant than I actually did. I love the food there...but wow.

I love Pappadeaux seafood gumbo and crawfish bisque.
