[old sitcom]This has been bugging me for a week...

    I had a dream a weak ago about an old sitcom from the late 80s or early 90s that I used to watch... I dreamed I was in it, and when I awoke I couldn't (and still can't) remember the name of the sitcom for the life of me.

    I've spent hours over the last week with Google to find the name of the sitcom, but no luck.

    So as my last course of action, I'm turning to all of you for some assistance.

    This is all I can tell you about the sitcom:
    • Short run on TV
    • Aired in late 80s or early 90s
    • Part of it was in black and white and part was in color
    • Theme: Show was about a family from the 50s (shown in black and white) living next door to a modern day family (shown in color) and how their interactions were with each other and what life generally was like for this 50s family in modern times... Kind of like "Pleasantville"
    Short run on TV.

    Anyone out there remember this? I've talked about this with all of my friends and family, and so far only my sister even remembers this show in existence -but she has no idea what the name of the sitcom is...

    Man, pulling up that show on youtube linked another show that brought back memories i never thought I had. I only started recalling the memory as the the video played. That show: You Can't Do that on Television

    ha i knew the answer first post

    one episode I remember was when the teenage daughter thought a pack of condoms was mints, so the dude she was dating saw it in her purse, he thought he was going to get lucky. that was the first time I saw condoms on a sitcom and I was like 10, my sister had to explain to me what they were.

    LOL I thought it was cute. I think we only watched maybe two episodes of it though.
