Kanye West sides with Soulja Boy

    http://www.kanyeuniversecity.com/blog/index.php?em3106=196345_-1__0_~0_-1_6_2008_0_0=1

Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain't Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that ain't even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like it's 96 again and all they do is hate on new ****? N****s always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning... that's Nas level ****... he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas **** if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track "Silent Murder" on it. In closing... new n****s get ya money$$$$$$$$$$ Keep this **** fresh and original.... ain't no ****in' rules to this **** and that's what real hip hop is to me.

I'm a big Kanye fan but I would never side with him on this. Soulja Boy is CRAP. He's not changing the game with originality! He is just another one hit wonder who is enjoying his nice 15 minutes of fame. When it comes to the hip hop world today, I have to side with the old schoolers. There are only a few that are truly changing it for the better like Kanye, Lupe, Chamillionaire, and to a certain extent Lil Wayne.

Regardless of what you think of their music, they are both in the wrong here...

How about being one of the most successful rappers turned actor? Ice T has loads of cash. Anyways, here is Ice T's response to Soulja Boys video:

WOW! Ice-T's son dissing Soulja Boy. In all seriousness, the SB should invest in a pen, some paper, a dictionary for clever lyrics, and a good producer if he wants to be a somebody.

Okay, I don't follow hip hop at all...

...but can somebody explain why black people say "ni99a" so much? I remember the guys from Crash (the movie) going on Oprah and trying to explain the difference between ni99a and ni99er - they're just sounding like fools. It's a rotten word and they're keeping it alive. Let it die.

Secondly...I'm sick and tired of these guys putting on their tough guy image. It's too bad their mom's didn't smack them every time they dropped an F-bomb. Sure, people swear here and there - but hip-hop/rap is getting ridiculous.

Finally...someone saying something about this. And Kanye West siding with Soulja Boy? That he's on Nas' level? Wtf? How does someone even respond to that? Kanye needs to understand that he's not trying to make this 96' again, it'll never be like that. But stuff like Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, and Common should be at the top of the charts and filling people's heads with real, positive and insightful messages. Not this garbage.

Go take one look at that "soulja girl" video with her going off an old lady to see what effect Soulja Boy has had on society. Kanye lost any and all credibility he once had. Moron.

Kanye was probably blitzed on cocaine and champagne when he wrote that.

At least we can all agree we don't love Kanye for his colorful insights on world events but rather his music.

Some say its a term of endearment. They took a word that was so harmful and turned it into a everyday word.

I agree with this. Take away the power of a word by making it your own.

Anyway. Soulja Boy sucks. Carry on.
