    Mark Jackson - Kenny Smith
    Steve Francis - Sam Cassell
    Cuttino Mobley - MAD MAX
    JJ - Elie
    CATO - Thorpe
    MING - Olajuwon

    I guess that makes Mo T - Carl Herrera

    MAN, JVG seems to have sneaked in the old RUDY System on offense
    while initiating his own Defense
    [not that Rudy D was bad in the Good years]

    C'mon, Sam Cassell is having an ALL-STAR season right now. Steve Francis, as good as he is, at times, will show flashes. But he aint as good as Sam Cassell.

    I was always against that trade for Barkley even though Barkley was one reason Houston was able to beat Seattle in the playoffs.

    I'd love to have Sam Cassell back on the Rockets roster.

    The other comparisons are nice, but Steve/Jackson to Smith/Cassel is not quite a good one. Smith was a shooter, not a passer like Jackson. And Cassel was an awesome 6th man. You could compare Cassel to MO though :D .....and Yao to Dream...NO...Dream was a freak.....but, then again, Yao is a beast :eek:

    dude, cassel at that time to francis now is no comparison. Cassel this year is having a freak season. Hes not going to keep it up for more that a season. Cassel is also is older than francis.

    Go look at Cassell's stats for the last 5 seasons. Cassell has been doing this for a long time. No one noticed becuase he was playing for sorry eastern conference team with sorry ass robinson and Allen.

    Mark Jackson is more like John Lucas, not Smith. Smith was a setup man for Hakeem. Not a creative passer like Jackson and Lucas.

    OK How about this?

    Mobley = Maxwell (great shot and good defense)
    Francis = Kenny Smith (shoot first, pass later)
    Jackson = Rodney McCray (if that's too old school, he reminds me of Ron Harper, who was never a Rocket)
    Taylor = Otis Thorpe (nice post moves - not the rebounder OT was)
    Yao = Hakeem
    Piakowski = Bullard
