I dont know if this is the right forum, but he was a rocket and wanted to get attention before tmrw....basically tmrw morning I am flying with my dad and one of his clients who is partners with Mike NEwlin (ex rocket) who is also coming on the plane to the sweet 16 game for Texas this wknd. I am too young to really know much about the guy and wanted to know as much as i could in like 6 hours before I leave....anything I should ask him? anyone even remember him on this board lol? Mods if this is wrong forum please move or delete...thanks

Ask Mike if it hurt scraping the floor with his face diving for loose ball. ;)

Talk to Mike about the differences between the game now and when he played. Ask him if he would still take Lebron over Yao (At one point he said he would)? Talk to him about the 'art of shooting' I know Mike pretty well. He's a great conversationalist so just let him talk and respond to what he says.

One thing I bet is that when you get back, you'll think Mike is a GREAT guy. He really is a very sweet person and is a FREAKING genius! Seriously!

Let me know how it goes.

He put something in his orange juice to grow in High school, I think it was arsenic or something...he will remember.

he used to fill in for Calvin Murphy on the broadcasts but I guess Van Chancellor is the designated sub now.

I believe that would have had an adverse effect on growing.

    And on living.

Mike Newlin was tough, hardnosed, fearless, smart and a really good shooter. Watched him play a bunch. Got almost more than was possible out of his natural ability.

Boy, we could use someone like that right now ;)

he could go on and on bout the difference btwn the game now and old....he hates it now refuses to go to many games...doesnt like the music (tim)....he claims that all players ability comes in length of their arms, says thats yaos problem and why he cant jump? he talked about ratliff having huge arms and thats why he plays yao very well, he also likes Jim Jackson, besides that hates the rockets..
