OK, who used to ride in the 80's??

I had an 86 Skyway Streetstyler(cracked it), and '87 Schwinn Predator(got stolen), and a '90 GT Aggressor. Still have the Aggressor, and I bought another '87 Predator on EBAY about 2yrs ago-trying to restore it. Rode Freestlye, & every now & then I'll still break out the bike and pull some old Tricks like decades & infinity rolls. Anyone else used to ride?

Same time period for me. My first BMX bike was a modified (by my brothers) Sting Ray in the 2nd grade.

Then I got a Schwinn Scrambler for Christmas in the 4th grade. Sweet!

Then it was a Red Line.

We mostly set up ramps and jumped. I did race once in the AstroArena or AstroHall, forget which. Got blown away.

I watched this movie a couple of times...

The most intense thing I ever did with my bike was pop a wheelie and put a crushed soda can over the back tire to simulate a motorcycle engine....

Thats a great year for GT's. I was never much of a GT fan, but 85-86 were good bikes. Are you ever on Vintagebmx.com? seems like someone else on that website uses your screenname.

I love that movie; do kids even ride bikes anymore or have the aggressive helmet laws put an end to fun?

Yeah, I've seen that scrn name there but it is not me. A friend of mine just restored his '85 Haro Master. He spend about $1k on paint and accessories which is why I am casually restoring mine. I want to paint it GT Yellow or dip it in chrome. Does anyone dip in chrome by the way?

it's not too hard to find somebody to chrome your bike. just do a casual search on the net -- usually it's some "pimp my ride" place.

i currently own 4 Champions: one 20", two 24", and one 26". they're all chrome and they all rule just as much today as ever. of course, i really only "fit" the 26" these days  .

Don't do chrome...the 80's were all about colors. GT Yellow would be great. Just like Fiola's. Yeah, its been getting real expensive for parts lately esp. on Ebay. GT parts are fairly abundant, but Haro stuff is more rare and more expensive. Hutch parts are WAY to freakin' expensive. I'm slowly restoring my Predator and my GT as a Rider. Some of the guys at vintagebmx can probably give you the correct pain codes to match GT Yellow.

I had a Race Inc. in the early 80's.

    Never raced it though.

I mainly jumped ramps on my street and did tricks, including crashing.
