is it me for does he look kinda chubby. when was this interview ? anyways who gives a crap about me or we......the bottom line is he hasn't gotten the job done.
Nice set of interviews you found there. They're short, but all of them revolve around team chemistry. It seems extremely relevant that he understands how important this is to the success of the team and makes me really wonder what happened between then [2007] and last season. Maybe he's returned to that group mentality now, though. I sure hope so. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/O6l0IRjnY9s&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/O6l0IRjnY9s&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/-Qp1jYbDvZk&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/-Qp1jYbDvZk&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_8yufu5BAPk&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_8yufu5BAPk&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> Also, here's another interview during the 2008 winning streak where he talks about the importance of a cohesive basketball team and his lack of surprise at the Rockets' accomplishments because of that strength. Skip to 1:40. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hqvC0sMCoKQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hqvC0sMCoKQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> He looks really enthusiastic here, impassioned even, and that's probably why he's so eager to return to the court. We have too many cynics here thinking it's just because it's a contract year. Sure, there's no doubt that that's part of it, but I think he's just excited and really feels he can push this team that much further. That's not to say he shouldn't be mature about it and just wait for the process to play out. He doesn't need to be in a hurry to prove himself; if Coach sees something good in practice, he'll have a future here. These guys aren't idiots. Sorry for the novel.
I've never believed that he's a bad guy or a cancer in any way. Listening to the interviews, it seems to me that the difference in philosophies between those teams and the current one is that the current team tries to attack before there are any double teams and before the other defense is set. I think that this is why Tracy sometimes has difficulty, is because he feels an obligation to his teammates to get them open shots. If he comes back and just fits in by not trying to draw a double team and instead utilizing his talents to score before the defense ever has a chance to set, the team will be quite fine.
After listening to that stuff, my gut says TMac comes back and fits in. My gut says he runs and plays D. And we'll be a three seed. Overly optomistic, maybe.
we had the same questions before he returned 2 years ago before the 22 game winning streak. will he hurt the adelman's offense? will he hurt the team? will he slow us down?... and it never happened. we only resorted back to a halfcourt offense late in the year and playoffs b/c yao was out, we had a lot of young players, and rafer/shane still played BIG minutes. tracy does want to win. that's why he wants to return to action so badly. he knows he can do some things with the current group of players we have now. that's why if he does stay, i know he'll sacrifice his own stats for the team. unfortunately, the ship has sailed.
