Just to add, it is a "potential blood clot" that will require a type of medication that will keep him out for 6 to 8 months.

It is NOT just the leg. It is the medication and the treatment that will keep him out. Ugh!!!

I hope he retires. I mean if he's out 6-8 months with something in his leg then he probably won't be able to do any conditioning etc. He would probably miss the start of next season etc. Hopefully he will just hang it up.

    The Dream will be missed.
    Him and Barkley....what a shame.

If the Rockets make the Playoffs you will truly know that this team will have balls of steel.
A Championship for the Wounded starts today.

Lets give our boys much love.
    try hard

With this news, I still hope we make the playoffs but it doesn't really matter without Dream. He was a big part of our resurgence and we just don't have the defensive presence with him gone. It will make our task at hand much more difficult...that is for sure. So, if we make the playoffs...great...we may see our beloved Rockets play in a few more games. If we don't, then we look forward to next season with a hopefully exciting off-season.
I expect great things next season [IMG].

This really puts a cloud on things, whatever transpires the rest of the way. I really wanted to see Hakeem end it helping the Rockets make a playoff run. I feel bad for him, because no player wants it to end like this. Hakeem was the main reason the Rockets were making a serious run for the playoffs anyway. His inspired play before he was injured was the catalyst for the team's improved play. Without him they have struggled. This really is the worst news the Rockets could have gotten.

You know it's bad when my mom who doesn't even follow basketball calls me up from Houston to tell me they just said Hakeem has a blood clot in his leg.

    ugh.

If I was Les, #34 jersey should be retired immediately! I never thought I would see this day [IMG] . ...To me, Dream will always be the symbol of the Houston Rockets!!!

His last game was scoreless in Atlanta, but the game before that was a 27-13 LOSS in Dallas. That is not the way it was supposed to end. Playoffs? I don't care. This is devastating. I hope Hakeem is able to play again, because this is not the way it should end. Couldn't he play in the final game? Maybe a few minutes? Like Barkley?
