Well I expected Hakeem to say something like that. I bet he is also "intrigued" at the thought of playing for the Lakers or even the Heat. He is a good business man and he is just keeping his options open. He is not going to sit there and say that he only wants to play for the Rockets. If he did that the Rockets wouldnt up their offer. I fully expect him to be back with the Rockets next year. Also what are the radio stations suppose to do? If they interview Hakeem and he says that he is "intrigued" by the Wizards, then the radio stations are going to report it. ------------------
edc, First, if you are trying to make some point by being ugly, you have to do better than that, rookie! To Rocket!!! You come off as a child. You should re-read your last post. There's nothing wrong with anyone questioning/correcting sources or stating (as it has been stated to many here) that a thread on the same topic has already been started. And if you want to reply to a thread, why not do it within its own context instead of starting another? Or, at least, give a good reason why a new one should be started before giving insults. ------------------

Gypsy, I have no problem with correcting sources, however I do have a problem with edc's condescending tone. Further, the story in and of itself was not the point of the thread. The point of the post, which is stated succinctly - is that or radio stations do not have a clue - They are followers, not leaders. All to often, new guys come in. They don't read the actual posts or grasp the point of the post and reply in some manner to make their "mark" or show-up somebody. Why? I wish I knew. It is silly. As I stated above, the point of the BBS is to share news, ideas, hopes (like another championship - please, god!) or opinions - like how lame or radio stations are or how far they are behind the curve. While there has been speculation on this board concerning Hakeem and the Wizards, it IS news to actually hear something from Hakeem himself. If the Rockets sign Webber and the media reports it are you going to say they are lame becuase it has been discussed on this board for months? ------------------
bobrek, Of course not! What is lame is that this has been reported by several sources in the past month. Why are our wonderful radio stations just picking it up. Like I said, just a tad behind the curve. Actually them announcing us signing Webber right now would be news - breaking at that! The Rcoks are here. I expect true investigative in depth knowledge. What we typically end up with is rerun table scraps. Don't you find it interesting that we have to go to the Orlando/Washington/et. al. newspapers to gather our info. before we get it from our own local press/radio. That is bad. Clutch just showed in one of his threads how ESPN pulls info. off of this BBS. Thats pretty lame! We have the 411 before they do. That is whack! Aplogies to Rocket!!! if he was offended. I don't know for certain Rocket!!! heard something local, but I stand by the likelihood it was one of the national breaks. Why? 1) He posted at ~1PM. 610 doesn't do anything local between 11AM and 2PM. 2) Minutes before he posted there was a top of the hour "SNRN Sports Flash" which prominently featured the Olajuwon story. 3) I heard most of the 610 morning show. The other points, primarily that this should've gone into the thread about Dream being "intrigued" stand. ------------------
edc, Lets just let it go and move forward. FYI, though, I heard early in the morning from one of the guys either Russ or Lance. I posted after my 4 hour meeting so there was quite a delay. Bottom line - it is not very intriguing. It was old news and I am tired of hearing Olajuwan posture. If he wants to stay fine! If he wants to go fine. I just wish he and his agent would shut their pieholes and decide what they want and get the deal done after the deadline. I'm tired of media posturing. All this goes under the the auspice that the media are a bunch of sluts. Is there any doubt that they are being used? OT, Go for it if you can get the UserName. My guess is those have been gone since the day the BBS started. I don't know, maybe Clutch recycles UserNames that go unutilized. I know he had to change my password after I had not logged in for a while and I subsequently lost my post count. Of course, that was my bad for setting my password on my old machine, not writing it down some where and updating boxes. Oh well, at least my membership date stayed. Good luck! This is silly. Hakeem hated playing with Barkley. They play the same position in the post, Barkley refused to let anyone else take a game-winning shot, even if Rudy drew it up for someone else, and on more than one occasion Dream refused comment Barkley's lazy work habits. When Hakeem refuses to comment, that means he has nothing good to say. He won't diss anyone. I'm sure Hakeem is intruiged, but he won't be playing in Washington.
