WojYahooNBA: Oklahoma CIty is taking a careful look at Memphis center Hasheem Thabeet, but only for a modest price, league executives tell Y!

Might be a longshot but if Thabeet was traded and then succeeds in OKC

Cole Aldrich is pretty much in that same "I have no idea how to play yet" boat that Thabeet is currently in.

Not sure if this helps them at all.

Agree it probably wouldn't work short term, hypothetically say in a couple years could be a steal. Doubtful Thabeet turns into much, but if he did that team would be even better than expected.

What is it with Seattle/OKC and their centers? In the mid-00's they blew three lottery picks on bust Cs. Now in OKC they're wasting first rounders again with Mullens and Aldrich.

I guess they can cut Thabeet after next season before Westbrook's extension would kick in. But they already have two stiffs not worth a dime at C right now, Mullens and Aldrich, and Thabeet is worse than both.

They may as well stick Ibaka in at C before getting Thabeet. He's just as good a shot-blocker and has improved his post defense some this year. But Ibaka is still couple of years from being able to play full-time C. He's a PF.

This is purely a NBA D-League roster move. They're leading the West, but want to take home the championship this year. I believe they came in 2nd last year to the Vipers.

D-League twin towers in Cole and Thabeet. Scary stuff. I honestly don't think any other team could compete with the combined inside presence of those two.

Drafting Robert Swift 12th overall in '04 was a catastrophic blunder with Big Al Jeff still on the board... SMH.

    OKC would be very scary.

Thabeet and Serge manning the paint, Sefolosha and Westbrook locking down the perimeter, and KD getting buckets at will. Jeff Green and Harden off the bench.

I really think he can be effective in other systems, The Grizz is trashy organization and don't know how to develope their players.

They haven't managed to bring along Mullens, White, nor Aldrich yet. I am not sure why Thabeet would develop when other bigs haven't. (Serge is the exception.)

But, I still think if his price tag is low enough, any teach in the league should give Thabeet a shot.

Nuggets have joined the chase. Nuggets looking for all the Centers they can get. :p Nene, Mozgov, Koufos(Koufas?), possibly Thabeet?

OKC with an adequate 7ft defensive center (not saying Thabeet is) = game over.

The little he's played this year Aldrich has looked OK. It's Mullens that won't be back next year.

I thought Koufos was on T'Wolves? Was Koufos involed in yesterdays trade? Nuggets have Birdman too.

Yeah, it was a last second add-in. Koufos and a 2nd rd pick to Denver or to Minnesota, I forget.
