No way OKC lets durant leave. A deal will get done this summer if not in a couple of weeks .

KD is actually my favorite player in the NBA right now behind Kobe... Funny thing is I thought he was not all that in College Hoops...

I would trade anybody on this team for KD... DM make it happen :)

It takes 2 to make a deal. Maybe Durant wants to play somewhere else but I highly doubt it.

I was just saying that him wanting to join another team isn't the reason they haven't signed an extension yet.

Kevin Durant is not going anywhere.

And the reason OKC isn't going to sign him to an extension on July 8 this summer is the same reason Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge didn't sign their extensions until LATE this past summer.

The Thunder have CAP ROOM to spend first.

If the Thunder quickly lock Durant up with an extension, it will eat up all the cap space that they have been accumulating for this summer over the past two years. Why the hell would they do that, when they could just as easily add one or two good free agents and THEN sign Durant to an extension?

Sam Presti is no fool. Durant isn't going anywhere. I would even go so far to say that Kevin Durant is the single LEAST "acquire-able" player in the NBA.

He'll be a restricted free agent. OKC will gladly pay the max for him.

So, unless Kevin Durant absolutely hates it there (which he doesn't) and is willing to risk tens of millions of dollars in long-term security in order to accept OKC's qualifying offer for the 2011-12 season, then and ONLY then, would Kevin Durant be a remotely available acquisition target. And that's in 2012.

Durant isn't making that much and OKC is not near as poor as to not be able to offer him the max.

CORRECTION: I actually am not sure if signing Durant to an extension this summer would adversely affect the Thunder's 2010 cap situation, since Durant's cap figure for 2010-11 should probably still be his rookie scale salary.

That said, it is still in OKC's best interests to map the free agent landscape and see how adding any additional long-term contracts will affect the franchise over the next 4-5 years before jumping in head first to a Durant extension.

But my point remains the same: Durant isn't going anywhere. Definitely not in 2011.

theyre in the playoffs hunt for the first time, they wont make a deal until summer, just like with yao. no point in making a distraction now. lol@them letting him go, unless they can get lbj in return, theyll put the largest number they cant afford in front of durant before they let him leave

i agree, durant is amazing and still not in his prime, i love the way he can just pull up for a shot, just like tmac used to do, to me its the most beautiful move in the game, to be able to gather yourself and jump the way he does, its like he hits a wall, he doesn't move ahead any further he just stops and goes up haha

tmac would jump even higher but he also would fade away (although it was unnecessary when he was jumping so high)

can't wait to see durant in a few years when he is stronger and drives more

Signing a guy to the Max now when you can wait until there is a new CBA is nuts.

The cap might effect a lot of these contracts they might be much less.
