I'm gonna go ahead and officially jump on the 76ers bandwagon. I'm watching them play Phoenix and they are everywhere. I watched about a minute and a half of gameplay in realtime with no interruptions - only the two teams running back and forth shooting the ball for the entire time. They could get things together with some late chemistry and offensive gelling. I say they'll upset someone in the first round. Am I crazy?
I see them finishing in the 6th or 7th spot in the east. They will very likely be able to upset Detriot or Boston. Indiana with O'Neal and Tinsley back will compete with Miami but they will be easily disposed.
76ers have some serious potential. Andre Iguodala and Samuel Dalembert are two outstanding young players.
the problem with Philly is that i like the role players(korver dalembert iguodala) but i do not like the stars(webber iverson). i think it depends on who they wil face in the first round, if it is miami they wil never win. Detroit will be very difficult, do not see hat happening. So if they face boston they have a very good chance(but that goes for every team that faces boston ion the first round)
Indiana is the real lower seed that has a chance at POSSIBLY upsetting a top seed. If the playoffs started today they would be matched up against a, dare I say, familiar foe in Detroit. Its kind of crazy they are still managing to win games despite playing without their two best players (Imagine the Rockets without T-Mac or Yao ). This series would be a defensive battle from start to finish with the neither team scoring more than 100 pts a game. Despite playing without Artest and O'Neal, the Pacers would be playing with a chip on their shoulder. I know it is unlikely for the defending champion to fall in the 1st round, but I think its safe to say there's a much greater chance of that happening than a Philly team, that might not even make the playoffs to begin with, upsetting a very good and elite Miami team.
Had they gotten Webber at beginning of the season and had more time to mesh then I would consider then a serious contender in the east. There is always a chance they could gel by playoffs.
They haven't even been able to catch Boston after that trade. Has to be the most shoddy bandwagon ever. Too many people hopped on all at once and the floor boards were full of termites. Evan
Not me. With Iverson being the man, they'll be mediocore until he retires. They were lucky to get to NBA finals when East was extremely weak.
And the 6ers will be lucky to make it to the playoffs this year! They are slumping, Orlando is just starting to find a smidgen of form, and New Jersey are charging at the moment. Philly is all of 1 game ahead of those teams, and not looking any real danger of doing anything! As for them finishing as a 6th or 7th seed Why not check their recent performance compared to the teams above them!!
