Okay, I have to do it...Any news on the "HOUSTON" alternate jersey???

Black jersey with Red letters and stripes would look great!

The bonus would be Houston on the top instead of Rockets!

 

I have a sense that our third alternative will be blue/white don't ask me why......

 

i was thinking more silver & red accents.

 

can some one tell me why eastbay and champs sports are selling a blue rocket jersey with the lettering of the championship jersey? not only the jersey but they have shorts and a shooting shirt to go with it.

atleast these Jersey threads are better than MCGRADY FOR FRANCIS threads...

 

I really don't think that's gonna happen. Maybe in five years when they realize that their jerseys aren't selling...but these Les Alexander Rockets would just totally change their unis at that point. I know Tim suggested alternate jerseys, but I feel that was just a natural marketing instinct that came forth as a need to pacify people. If they indeed make an alternate uni, I will be impressed by their first attempt at keeping up with things instead of catching up with things.


What I mean by that last statement is that Detroit and LA didn't try to revolutionize their look in order to catch up with current looks...they simply modified their look when they saw that a new look was coming. The Rockets, on the other hand, have twice waited until their stuff was out-dated and then tried to run ahead in catching up. An alternate jersey, at this point, would be against their prior strategies.

 

Yea I dont like them myself, its bascially a combination of the chapionship jerseys with the pajama colors. I heard it was just an alternate color to the Red and Yellow, but hate them with a passion. I first saw them on Ebay, but now there everywhere.

 

The reason is because homies and gangster homies aka the blue guys, the crips, need a houston jersey seeing as the rockets are now blood members.


That's the real reason why.

Tim, comfirmation please. I know you guys market towards the gangs.

 

Would it be too "bling bling" if the alternates were mostly silver with red trim? If the Suns can look like crap, we should have that right as well.

Seeing Houston on the front would be a nice change.

Yep, Kam, you finally figured us out.

We are still considering a third jersey, but we won't roll one out next season. Jerseys weren't even available for public purchase until AFTER this last season started. We're going to let the current ones soak in for another year or so, at least.

I'll second that. If our 2 colors are red and silver, then I want to see some silver. Probably, a lot of people will say it looks bad, but they'll be wrong. I want silver.

But, what's really important -- way more important than the silver, Tim -- is that they say Houston on the front. We built you a stadium and now we want some love. I notice you had no comment on this. So, I'll reiterate: it must say Houston.
