Okay, I finally broke down and got a PS3. Need recommendations.

    Like the title said, I picked up a PS3 slim last night. Was going to buy my first Blu Ray player and said why not just pay $50 more and be able to play God of War 3 when it comes out. But, long story short, I need some game recommendations. I am an avid Xbox 360 guy, so I know not too much about the PS3 gaming scene. But I know there are plenty PS3 guys here. So, recommendations? I already picked up Metal Gear Solid 4 with the system for $22. Figured that was a can't miss. Thanks for the advice in advance, guys (and gals. I know, y'all are gamers too :) ).

    I haven't played it, but Uncharted 2 seems to be the most recent great PS3 game.

    Another shooter with stunning graphics and very good gameplay is Killzone 2. It's on sale for $30 at Newegg.

    If you enjoy platformers, I would recommend Little Big Planet.

    X-Box 360 is the better system -- the PS3 is for losers.

    I'm more of an RPG guy, but I'm not anti-platformer. I liked Ratchet & Clank. I think thats the last platformer I played. On PS2.

    Ha Ha! I doubt I am going to jump off the 360 bandwagon. It is dear to me. Just figured since I have a PS3 now, I should probably have some games for it. All games that come out on both, I will probably still go with the 360 version.

    Well, there's always the Final Fantasy series from Sony, but I'll be honest I haven't played any of them since FFX

    if you want Little Big Planet, I'll sell it to you for $25. I bought it about 4 months ago and have only played it for about 20 hours. since it got such great reviews and everyone was recommending it, i bought it. but i'm not that into it.

    btw, if you had waited a couple more weeks, you might have gotten that ps3 bundle with Batman Arkem Asylum, Infamous, and Dark Knight blu ray at Best Buy

    Already have Batman on 360. But that does sound like a cool deal.

    Never played it, it's supposedly good but 2 is an amazing game. You won't regret getting Uncharted 2.

    I really liked the first Uncharted. Try to rent it or find a used copy - there's nothing story-wise other than meeting characters. I'd recommend Killzone 2, infamous, Resistance 1 or 2. If you liked R&C there are a few good ones available on PS3. ToD is a great game.

    uncharted 2 is waaaaaaaaaay better, but the first one is still good. if you can get it for 10-15 bucks go for it. new copy at gamestop is $30....

    But you dont need to play 2 to follow the story line at all. there's so returning characters, but you can figure it out as you go on....

    you'll get your money's worth, cuz it's a long game too. i got to chapter 20 last night...chapters are fairly long.

    The complaints on the reviews I read on the original was that it was too short. Sounds like they fixed that in the sequel.

    Killzone 2, Resistance 1 and 2 if you're a fan of shooters. Killzone 2 is the prettiest game I've ever played.

    Okay, I started an account with Gamely (the Netflix of Video Games). Got Uncharted 1 & 2, Killzone and Resistance:Fall of Man in my queue. Thanks for all the suggestions!

    Depends on the genre you look, but there are some good ones. My favorites lately have been Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time and INfamous. Plus the God of War collection comes out tomorrow. The Buzz Quiz games are pretty fun if you're into trivia.

    Oh and KingCheetah, you're momma's a loser. :grin:

    Are the God of War games improved at all? Or are they direct ports?
