I'm leaning towards Silas, I think Van Gundy is overrated, plus I can't stand to see more ugly offense.

Silas would not be a bad choice.

    I like Del Harris too.

With the Cavs winning the Lebron sweepstakes the Rockets had to act fast and make a move. They want Van Gundy.

Donnie Nelson - but since that won't happen - Larry Brown.

    1 A Calvin Murthy
    1 B Jeff Van Gundy

I expect JVG to be the next coach of the Houston Rockets.

What type of compensation would the Sixers demand for Brown (who is still under contract but is expressing reservations about returning)? He is definitely worth a first round draft pick (if NBA rules allow that type of transaction).

I would worry about JVG getting sacks under his eyes again like at NY. Granted, the media isn't as tough on the team as in NY, but there will still be tons of it here due to Yao.

I also don't really like Larry Brown. I've read some things about how he coaches and he always has to be moving his players. There is no stability with him. Yao needs some stability.

Silas would be ok, but I'm not sure his offense would be much better than Rudy's.

I guess I'd have to go 1) Nelson 2) Silas.

Musselmann would be #1 for me if we could somehow pry him from Golden State.

Anybody except Silas, who had won zero big playoff games.

Van Gundy, Silas or Brown would have to be front-runners.

Also wasn't Brown on the coaching staff with Rudy T for the Olympics? Maybe that would make the transition easier... Of course speculating that Brown does step down/fired/etc. He would be an excellent choice.

Out of Silas or Van Gundy - leaning a bit towards Van Gundy.

Loved how all of his team overachieved (read:well motivated and prepared by the coach) and played great team defense.

Larry Brown no. I don't know if he'll be able to commit for the long haul. He's 66 and seems to have this annual end of season flakeyness about his job every year.

So I'd go with I dunno. Silas isn't exactly a sure deal. Van Gundy, who's to say he's already in Cleveland? Hmmm....I dunno.

Can Van Gundy coach a West Coast team?

I think he will be our new coach, but I like Silas.

Didn't Charlotte/NO win a game 5 over Orlando last year?

I hope its VG or Brown. If Van Gundy's is the coach, I could see him bringing in Mike Fratello as his assistant.
