If I am the coach of the team I would throw caution to the wind, and go small.....start Aaron Brooks, let him run the PG and penetrate, and then I would bring in Novak off the bench to extend the defense.

Also, I would start Landry.....and leave Deke on the bench with Hayes.

I would not play Luther, minimize Hayes and Deke just use them situationally.

And get some of the younger guys some valuable playoff experience.....

    Think outside the box......

    What about you?

I would not play Luther Head.

I would make the Rockets practice their free throws.

I would tell Bobby Jackson that he's not Allen Iverson.

I would play Aaron Brooks more.

I would tell the team to gang rebound.

I would also tell them to play just as physical as Utah and lay a couple of the Jazz players out if you have to.

    ooohhh...oooh.....ooooh....I forgot.

I would also tell Scola three things.

    1. Take it up strong INTO the defense force the refs to make a call.
    2. Hit your danged FTs, we need every point we can get.
    3. Do not EVER leave Okur to double team Williams, stick to him like glue.

I would adopt this formula, or go to another city and claim you got lost.

    Play Landry and Brooks more.
    Play a little zone.
Don't let TMac handle too much ball.

Finally, tell them to just enjoy the game.

i know the p/o is all about adjustments. but i feel with all the cards adelman can deal at hand, there probably aren't too many he'll be able to make.

and people need to stop the delusions about all of the sudden somebody (be it mcgrady, landry, or anyone else) steps up.

the only thing we can do is to be more assertive and execute better. reduce the # of these silly and often useless p&r's.

I think coach Adelman need to have a motivation and confidence boosting talk with our rookies. We need our rookies to show up big and show what they can do under aggressive and intense plays during playoffs. If Adelman can make our rookies feel confident and the rookie play as if they have nothing to lose and made their shots, we maybe have a slim chance.

If Rafer is not back yet. I would do the following

    1. Start brooks, but split PG minutes with BJax. Using BJax as a 6th man, our crappy version of Manu.
    2. Play physical with the Jazz. If anyone fouls.... foul hard, have the Jazz think twice before stepping into the paint.
    3. Rest Tmac for the start of the 3rd, and give him a break in the early 4th, so he'll have strength for the closing out the game.
    4. Do not let Head handle the ball. Have him as a spot up shooter.
    5. Limit the PnR with Tmac. Get him the ball at the elbow. His jumper has been on point at this range, and he can find cutters easier without wearing himself down.
    6. Shane doesn't have to expend too much energy on the defensive end considering he's not guarding Deron/Boozer/Okur. We should utilize him more on the offense, and create some post up plays for him. Also, in the first 3 quarters, try to limit the minutes he plays with Tmac. When Tmac is playing, rest Shane, etc. But have them both fresh for the 4th.
    7. Hit free throws!!!

From what I understand, Rafer is supposed to be back, so I'm assuming he'll start Rafer. I'm not sure what the value is of starting Brooks over BJax. He can just have him play longer minutes to see how he does, and if he outplays BJax, then start him. I would be curious about how Brooks might do with more minutes, though.

He did and he still didn't get the call anyway

I thing he need to take it strong and them flop thats the only way. I don't know why he stop flopping we need him to do it to be able to beat Utah.

Let Sikma take over the coaching duties and take a trip to europe to scout draft prospects.

    1. Attack the rim
    2. Gang the rebounds
    3. Start Brooks if Rafer can't go
    4. Landry needs to play more than 8 minutes
    5. Try Woods.

I would tell the team that there are three rules that I live by:
    1. Never get less than twelve hours sleep
    2. Never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city
    3. Never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body.
Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

    1) With Rafer back there's absolutely no excuse imaginable to play Luther Head.

    PG: Rafer/Brooks
    SG: T-Mac/BJax

Also, we're so lucky we didn't get burned when Luther was guarding Korver. I was thinking the whole time "This chump is just going to pull up and shoot over him" but he never took advantage of the mis-match.

    2) Again, try to get Landry involved. He's been so up-and-down all year that he's due for one of his monster games.

I'd try up his minutes to about 20-25 by giving him minutes obviously at PF but also at the three to counter Harpring's aggressive, physical post-up game.

    3) Keep Battier glued to Korver's hip. Aside from that cheap lucky floater from hell he didn't do a damn thing against us. Battier stayed on him and never let him breathe. That's the way to play him.

    4) Some may disagree with this approach but keep Deke on Boozer. It's gone almost unnoticed how well Deke has performed defensively this series -- especially in game two. Boozer seems to really be bother by Deke's height and length. Boozer has this look in his eyes like he's afraid to get blocked. I love it.

    5) Kindly request that T-Mac stops shooting three's. And if it's absolutely necessary to do so, please do it in the first half while he still has his legs underneath him. His three point bombs were barely hitting the rim in the 4th quarter last night.

    1. don't give up . . .don't tank
    2. run a 3 guard line up . .the big line up is to get rebounds
well that ain't happening now. .. .so what the hell

    rafer, bJax, Tmax
    Brooks, Bjax Tmax
    Brooks, Rafer Tmax
    Brooks Rafer, BJax

I think we need to start looking to OUT QUICK them
they hustling all over the floor
and beating our unathletic battiers and hayes to the ball

a friend told me . .he thought harpring was more athletic than Tmax
    [at this point]

I don;t think so . . but the idea he said it gave me pause

    quick quick quick!!!1
