(Ohio.com) Gooden for Thomas?

I would love to have Gooden (although he needs a coach to rid him for him to produce)

..I wish that we would have gotten him in the o-town trade

I wouldn't mind unloading Howard for a guy who's younger and a better rebounder. Welsh would be an okay backup I guess, haven't seen much of him since he left Dallas, but he can't be that great if the Cavs have soured on him already after supposedly being so high on him before they got him.

 

how could this move free up any money for phoenix? Thomas makes more money than q rich.

 

I'd rather keep a limited Howard than swap him for Drew "One game on, Three games off" Gooden. The guy reeks of immaturity, which is why Memphis and Orlando (and now Clev?) were so quick to ditch him. When teams don't want young bigs, raise the red flag.

I think the idea is that they wouldn't want to invest tons of money into two players who play virtually the same position. By getting Thomas, they can keep Stoudamire at center, move Thomas to the PF, put Marion back at the three, Johnson at the 2 and Nash at the 1.

They found out the hard way that trying to play the up-and-down game is fine in the regular season but will get you beat in the playoffs by a good defensive team.

 

They're talking long term - Kurt comes off the books sooner.

i would do a Jho and #24 for gooden and jiri trade. but if we are already looking to deal sura and wesley then Jho becomes important for team chemistry.

 

I just hope that the Phoenix trade means that they will allow Ike Diogu fall to us.

With Andriskuvicius [sp] still in the draft, Phoenix can still draft him and hope he is their answer at the pivot but maybe not since they remember freshly that JakeS did not pan out as planned.

 

Anybody who wants to build a championship team would be nuts to get Drew Gooden. He has a severe case of ADD. He's as talented as any PF in the league, unfortunately he has a few screws loose. Superintelligent and supernice guy, but it's a fact. Only insiders know about his mental deficiencies and Tracy is definitely one of them. T-Mac will veto the trade if CD was stupid enough to pull it off.

Have you noticed that everybody is trying to get rid of him? He's been in the league two years and he'll be on the fourth team already. You ain't fooling Jerry West. There's a legitimate reason he let Gooden go.
Wiesbrod couldn't get rid of Gooden in the T-Mac deal, so he traded him afterwards and basically gave him away. Gooden and Varejao for Tony Freaking Battie? Varejao by himself is as good or better than Battie. Magic wanted to do anything possible to get rid of Gooden.
