Also, I'm sure this has been mentioned, but...7 home playoff losses in a row.

I said a month ago that I'd almost rather not win the division and start the playoffs on the road like arlington did last year.

Let's be real though. 90% of teams haven't ever had a dynasty. Excluding the Yankees, the list is VERY short. It's fair to say we're spoiled compared to most fans who get a shot one year every few decades.

Let's hear them cry for a 3rd year in a row that the WC team has the advantage because the 1 and 2 seeds sit too long while the WC team stays hot. If they lose again in the Divisional round, suddenly Manfred will rethink the format.

Well, this just sucks, NO MORE DAM baseball for the year :( This was such an odd year for me, at times we looked like world beaters and the next we just looked lifeless. I might tune in and watch an inning or 2 of the WS but without the Astros in it my interest is very low. I do think it's time for some changes and some new blood and you can't get better without losing some key pieces who have been great teammates and have done so much. Knowing Crane and his dislike for long contracts it's time to deal King Tuck and Framber for prospects or a quality 1st baseman and CF. Ryan P needs to go and somehow bootstrap Montero`s contract to a trade of Tuck or FV. I would love to see JV come back HEALTHY with a team friendly contract but that's just wishful thinking I am sure but I dont see him commanding a huge payday as in years past, but there is always someone who thinks they can catch lightning in a bottle and will overpay. I am nervous about Altuve as he gets older so Dubon should get plenty of time to give him rest next year. Jettison Meyers and Chaz and regulate Big Jon to a bench player or let him go elsewhere. I love Breggy but I don't see him taking a discount so I think he is gone

So, this is what it's like to be a Rangers fan huh, on Vacation before the fun starts to begin

    PS - This SUCKS

Well, no. We won the division and made the playoffs. Rangers sucked all year.

Meh we were the Golden State of baseball. I'm not even mad, every run comes to an end.

I'm still salty about Hader's AB with Ibanez. Ibanez was clearly all over Hader and his timing, and fouled off pitch after pitch after pitch. Now I don't know if this was Yainer, or this was Josh, but to go back to the fastball for like a 4th consecutive pitch was stupid at best. Change his eye line, change his timing with off speed, pitch him far outside or far inside, hell throw it in the dirt....do ANYTHING other than another heater that he was on top of. And this may even go back to Espada's decision to pitch him needlessly in Game 1, but the fact was Ibanez was ALL OVER that pitch and it was painfully obvious. The biggest thing I hate in sports is when it's clear as day that your opponent has figured out what you're doing, but you decide to try to get it by them anyways and it fails.

I know, we had 2 outs, 2 strikes. He scored n that was the game. I knew we weren't coming back from that.

They may still get at bats and a chance to play a lot - but they want someone they know will likely produce if the younger bats don't come through. The margin for error is shorter with so many holes in the lineup. I expect Dezenzo to get at bats, and if he hits the majority of playing time - but he isn't a sure thing. If the Astros decide to spend a lot on Bregman or a starter - then they may be forced to play a lot and just risk failure.

It is all a balancing act - with Tucker and Valdez and Bregman all coming up - the Astros desperately need some of these holes to be filled internally with pre-arb level players. However - they also are trying to maximize their window now. I think that someone like Melton is either starting by 2026 or he is dealt for someone that is.

This is an excellent glass half empty way at looking at it lol. For me, it would sting a little less had the Astros won one of either 2019, 2021, or beat the Rangers in the ALCS. But I still really enjoy what the last decade has been for this franchise and makes those years going to games as a kid or defending the team when they were the worst in baseball worth it.

I wonder if that's ever happened in the history of baseball before. Unfathomable how bad this team is at home when it matters.

Twins had an 18 game playoff losing streak. Not sure how many of those were home games.

I rest easy knowing that the braves "dynasty" of the 90's only won 1 WS. At least we got 2.

Should have won in 19 and/or 23, but winning 2 is certainly better than just 1.

1-7 at home in the last 2 years. 5-0 on the road.

Next year, the 6 seed needs to be our goal.

How about the utter irony that Dana Brown's prize possession in the offseason cost him a chance to see his prize possession at the trade deadline pitch.

That might sound crazy but I think that is what we need to do.

It could be argued that having home field advantage has actually cost us 2 World Series. Last year's ALCS and the 2019 WS. We were 6-0 on the road in those 2 series. 0-8 at home.
