I think Polanco is a solid under the radar option. Kyle Farmer can hit lefties and will also be cheap. Jose Iglesias will probably get overpaid but if not he’s another decent option as a 2nd/3rd lineup addition. From your posts it doesn’t sound like the Astros are very optimistic about their young players (Whitcomb, Dezenzo).
The free agent closer market is pretty slim. If Houston shops Pressly he could be the 2nd best guy available after Holmes. I’d rather have Pressly than Estevez or Jansen or any of the other available arms out there.
Which RF would you rather have? Tucker or Tatis? Both Gold Glove fielders..one is a regular season MVP candidate and non-chalant as it gets and the other gets big hits after big hits in the post-season and has swagger off the charts
I roll right by it. Used to argue with it but it’s not really worth it. Life is mostly how you choose to perceive it. We lost today and that sucks. We’ve also won a **** ton more than most. Sun will rise tomorrow. sports is a great outlet but you can’t FULLY appreciate ground ball right side could do it if you didn’t endure the torture of Astros playoff baseball in previous years. Today will be a remember when when we win again.
TBF Tucker is significantly less likely to either get suspended for PEDs or get injured doing something stupid like riding a motorcycle. Tatis was literally not there for 2022.
I had high hopes for him when he said he changed his batting technique. Started off the season looking good then fell off completely, mainly relying on short hits and out running teams. A big disappointment.
Agree... but fvck Hader. Dude is basketcase of a pitcher. Trade him for prospects / farm depth. Rafael Montero - Strike 1 Jose Abreu - Strike 2 Josh Hader - Strike 3 Reset.
I assume you meant Jorge Polanco? If so, he is terrible defensively at 2B…how is he going to play third? I’m guessing Bregman is all but gone based on this…
what a horror show these past couple years have been for the front office. Signing Hader and Jose Abreu to these horrible contracts. They really put the team in a tough spot going forward. I really don’t know what they should do, do you sign both Bregman and Tucker, which we know they won’t, but you can’t keep on losing these players. Which one to keep though, the older team leader Bregman, or the regular season MVP caliber player but post season no show Tucker? don’t get me started on Framber. this off-season will be interesting.
Who is trading for a relief pitcher on the decline at a $15 million cost? Please somebody stupid do us that favor.
Goddamnit. Preach & thank you for your perspective. Amen, brother. The stars shall shine on Houston again.
A lot of it has to do with the fact that the fans have become use to seeing the Astros play like crap at home while their money go down the drain.
The guy on the M’s. Apparently he played 3rd for the Twins. As for Bregman - the organization is getting a lot of pressure to sign him but it would require both sides wanting it to happen. I won’t say there is no way he doesn’t resign. However it would need Bregman and Crane both pushing it… the feeling within the Astros has been that NY or Arizona would make him a large offer.
As I am sure others have said... anything can happen in a 3 game series. Every bounce, every management decision, every swing mean so much. Even in the MLB playoffs, get hot at the right time and the sky is the limit. Im disappointed its over but we can hang our heads too low... its been a sweet 9 years. all good things come to an end eventually.
