So does Whitcomb get his first start tonight? If so, LF or 1B? I'm betting LF, but probably not until tomorrow.
Yordan can play LF fine at MMP. Also did so at Boston all 3 games. They just don't want to subject him to the artificial turf larger LF's out there. Whitcomb will take whatever role/starts Leon was potentially going to have (not much)... but most of the "best" possible Astros lineups include Yordan having to play LF. We're at the point of the season where he has to put the best lineup out there every game, regardless of minor league player development.
Released by the worst team in baseball history, but good enough to start every game in the playoffs 9 months ago. Baseball has randomness and no decisions guarantee a victory, but to not even try to maximize the odds ... I know, its been argued and talked about to death, but it still makes me so damn angry.
2019 - gigantic disappointment, and lucky champion 2021 - great season, losing sucked but it wasn't an egregious outcome 2023 - manager gave away a championship... to Dallass nonetheless
Astros need to resist the urge to be on brand by going 8-1 on a tough road trip and have a let down against the worst team in MLB history, at home. Please don't do it.
I don't think they sweep us, but it's not out of the question the way we play against sub 500 teams at home.
Please don't play down to these bums....on paper we should smoke them, reality says we cant keep winning every game. WLW
